Dont get me wrong, HH is a decent little player in a good moment currently but he isnt and never will be Harry Winks. Winks is an absolute melt. An arsehole. But he's our melt, our arsehole. so lets get behind the arsehole and support. Up the city 3 2

I don't care how much people hate him, if he helps us stay up I'm happy for him to play. I'm not sure how you actually squeeze him in our best 11 if JJ is fit to start. If he misses out purely tactically then fair enough. But I couldn't give a shit about anyone's personal grudges right now as long as we stay in the league. We're not staying up so long as we continue to play players like Winks, Ayew and Mavididi who clearly do not care. Midfield 3 of Skipp, James and Mukasa is the only way going forward. 1

I can relate to this, I find myself getting infuriated at literally everything Ayew does even if other players do the same shit and I overlook it. I do relate. But, I'm sorry, Winks has been decent so far under Rowett and he's definitely putting a shift in. I think there's a valid argument that he doesn't get in our best team on merit purely because of the balance of the team. I think Skipp is stronger defensively and our centre backs aren't good enough to only have Winks shielding. I think JJ offers more box to box and I think controlling the game, Winks forte, is less important to us now. I also think Mukasa is too good to leave on the bench and JJ is wasted at 10. So believe me, I'm not saying Winks should be guaranteed to start. But I don't think he's been terrible under Rowett and I do think you've got the rage blinkers on. Which, again, to iterate - I complete understand and relate to. 16 1

cat lady Posted 9 March Posted 9 March How about we stop criticising our players, encourage them instead of booing. Just maybe they might win a game 1 1

I think Winks is keen to get on the ball and play his little 5-10 yard passes but where have you seen him putting effort in to stop runners going beyond him? On the ball Winks looks busy. I think it's because it makes him look better on the tele or to potential suitors come the transfer window. But actually watch him when we need to defend and he's static. He regularly watches people run past him and i've seen sumo wrestlers move quicker when a ball is played over his head. It's "alright" when a player is providing important contributions to the team but he isn't. A strong club would have banished him to the reserves months ago. 1 1 1

Just maybe they might win a game I'm afraid the players have largely brought any toxic atmosphere upon themselves. I've not watched as many games this season as usual but one thing has been apparent each time I have and that is a sheer lack of effort by a large percentage of the players. That has improved a bit in the last couple of matches but putting in 100% effort every minute of every game should be a given. But we've not seen that this season have we? I've been a supporter for many decades now and I don't think I've ever seen such a bunch of disinterested players pulling on our shirt. Back in the days when players got the bus to matches and were paid a pittance in comparison to what they receive today criticism was often held back by supporters. However, today the wages they receive are obscene, not their fault, and spectators have a need to vent their feelings I'm afraid and this season it is perfectly justified. If players are seen to be putting the effort in, even if they are not very good, fans will back them. Did you see the Norwich at home performance? The difference between the sheer effort of both sets of players was like night and day. 93rd minute three Norwich defenders bust a gut to track back and prevent a cross. Just compare that to our defending for their 2nd goal. Not a surprise really to hear boos when you see things like that. 6

No disrespect, but hear this bo11ox all the time. If any of these tossers even get a good tackle in on an opposition they do get the crowd going. This is all it takes, a tackle, a good pass, a good run...i mean ffs ive even heard people aplaud a backward pass to the GK. What happens ON the pitch transfers OFF the pitch...Give us mugs SOMETHING to applaud or get excited about... 2
The boy Linacre Posted 9 March Posted 9 March (edited) I'd be looking to play JJ, Winks and Mukasa along with Skiipp as defensive midfielder, which means that one of Mavididi or Abdul isn't starting. Abdul's quality has been well off this season, hitting a couple of worldies in a season isn't enough. Ipswich were hammering it down our right side because he wasn't putting a shift in to help Ricky, having said that, is he the winger to lose his place or should it be Stephy, who again has dropped off a lot from 2 years ago. JJ and Mukasa are the best two players at the club this season, they have to play. And don't know about Lascelles fitness, but though he cleared plenty Saturday, Okoli is just too much of a risk, just too many misplaced passes out from the back or poor decision making, he's a defensive liability and not to be trusted. Even though we lost, Lascelles looked decent at St Andrews. We're stuck with the rest, though good to see Daka get a goal and maybe feel he is first choice now. Might make him play better, AND if he could stay on his feet most of the time??? We have to start winning AND the world would look such a better place IF somehow, we can win 2 home games in a row. BUT we have to actually go for it, we are clos to having nothing to lose now. Edited 9 March by The boy Linacre 3

I am almost certain that if the players play in the same way they have in the 3 away games and give 100%, there would be no toxicity. The Toxicity is generated when they don't run. Really, there is nothing stopping players running other than their own minds, if they cant do that its on them. Its one of the reasons people have been more patient with say Daka than Ayew, Daka you could never really say doesnt try.

They have nothing to play for. One fit CB who is a newish signing. No strikers who know where the net is. One of their best players suspended after being sent off today. Confidence through the floor. So obviously a 2 0 away win. Yep, LCFC - the gift that keeps on giving!
