Just buy the best lg1 players. I'm sure they would jump at the chance. However we will soon turn them to mush aswell

With what, magic beans lol

Freebies and loans from higher division power houses like Coventry City and Ipswich!

There’s just nothing to be excited or interested about this team in League One is there. All the youth players who are literally the only thing we have going for us currently, will be snapped up by clubs who will give them a path to the first team. It’s just thoroughly miserable to think about.

We can't assume that all the talented young players will be off. We need to actually field a team lol

Page, Braybrooke, Alves etc will be playing for us. Monga and Nelson probably not.

We don't do rebuilds under this ownership.

We sell what we can and then we buy whoever agents offer us at the end of the window with what budget remains (probably overpaying still and flouting FFP'.)

If you're expecting any sort of coordinated, strategic rebuilding of a squad based on key positions required and the personalities needed to transform the culture of the club and playing squad, prepare to be disappointed.

This is the thing that is really dragging me down with it all. There won't be the light at the end of the tunnel with a fresh new team and approach.

Winks probably to 2027 too.

The 2027s are the biggest problem really.

If you're implying Winks has an option, I don't see why either the club or the player would want to trigger that unless it's already happened because it's automatic based on appearances? His wages will be so damaging to us that extending him to try and sell him doesn't seem profitable and his attitude was wayward enough in the Championship that forcing him to play in League One seems daft. And despite how we see him here, he's easily good enough to go and get a good contract somewhere on free agency so much that he doesn't need to extend here.

But the rest, BDCR, Choudhury, Vestergaard - that's a massive, massive lump of wages right there that I don't see us being able to get rid of. We desperately want to wipe them out and get a clean slate and some flex in the wage bill to properly rebuild but I don't really see how we possibly get rid of those. I don't see who even loans Vestergaard or BDCR without us paying a huge chunk of their wages. They'll be the highest paid players in League One and they shouldn't even make the 11. Hamza, maybe, is a decent League One DM if we're that desperate?

Stol,

Aluko, Souttar, Nelson, Thomas

Hamza, Skipp,

X, X, Mavididi,

X

Ugh. On paper that shouldn't be too horrible but it's just way too many toxic reminders of the last few years. God I wish we could just gut the whole lot.

Yep, the squad and contract situation is rancid.

The Winks thing is because a month or so ago there were reports going round that a 4th additional year was triggered when we went up under Maresca.

I think some of the higher earners, we try and shift by offering them to clubs with no fee attached. Whilst they wont get the wages they get here, a signing on fee at a club could alleviate that. We aren't realistically going to get a transfer fee for Vestergaard or Reid. Someone possibly might pay a fee for Hamza or possibly loan him

Braybrooke over one of Skipp or Hamza

I have just looked at our 2008/09 rebuild - I had forgot that we bought Dickov back!!

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leicester-city/transfers/verein/1003/saison_id/2008

Its a shame that you just cant see Leicester being able to make the right appointment, and performing a similar level of rebuild.

Oh and to 'possibly' make you smile. Take a look at this - some of the people at the start made me laugh (apologies if it is any of you on here!!)

This is why I can't renew my ST, I am just sick of it all and the writing has been on the wall for years, each year your head says give them the benefit of the doubt, they're riding out the financial bump in the road and next season they'll have a plan. It is the same unorganised / myopic decisions from year to year.

I can't continue to pay these people while they continue to slowly kill this amazing football club.

We know you should have a detailed plan all in place for either relegation or safety, we know they have neither, they'll go on holiday and think about it when they're back.

Can't wait for this rebuild, especially when we appoint a manager who gets a rod on for experience and we end up with a load of League One equivalents of Jordan Ayew.

fair point, what is Jordan Rhodes doing these days?

Thing that makes me laugh is that our biggest problem by far is the defence.

And who are the players with the contracts that are still going to be here next year that we can't get rid of? Okoli, Vestergaard, Kristiansen, Thomas, maybe even Faes lol

Everyone pinning their hopes on Harry ****ing Souttar who hasn't kicked a ball since Maggie Thatcher was PM and Ben Nelson, whose catalogue of errors isn't far off Faes' and who we probably need to sell to avoid him leaving for free.

We should do what Birmingham did with Stansfield.

We should buy James and build around him with anything else we have.

Wishful thinking

Anyone on more than £10-15k a week will need to be sold. I really don't think people understand how precarious this all is.

Agree. The club is 10 times bigger in terms of wages, infrastructure and overheads than it was last time we got relegated to L1. There will be no money for signings again as any spare cash will be needed to cover running costs.

What makes me laugh, is that i agree our defence is our biggest issue.

However, we have no midfield (Jordan James is great but he's an injury nightmare and he wont be here anyway next year), and we have no strikers.
