I’ve seen enough grifters manage this club for the past 7 years .  We  missed out on Miron Muslic , we someone of that type .  Robbie Keane , seems like the perfect fit , of we can convince him to take a gamble on a league one club .  Rm, is your typical down south chancer .  Get rid quick .  He cannot eat into any more of the season .  Embarrassing .  Take the financial hit or sell whoever to balance the books of sacking Rm , just cut him out asap

If we get drubbed at Stockport he will have to go. Unfortunately that will probably mean Andy King as stand in for ten games, that's what helped relegate us last season as he's not up to it. We need to do what other clubs do and have a replacement lined up.

Again Andy King's role is to help the young players integrate into the first team, like all the players that are actually decent

In that case keep him intertwined with the youth set up

It won't be King will it, Hourihane would likely get it win a few then get it full time

You either entertain and win or just win at this level. There are no caveats. That is what you sign up for. 17th after five games is awful.

To blame the youngsters for that was the act of a clueless man.

Should have blamed himself for being incapable of inspiring anything.

*Plus to play again a team WITHOUT A HOLDING MIDFIELDER (No.6) is mindless*

*Who does that?*

We have a 4-0-6 formation FFS.

We're going to lose every game where the opposition realises we play this formation

Dont expect Page and Braybrooke to protect the back 4.

Theyre both No.8 style players.

Page also a No.10 at some stage.

Dont play them as No.6's

Its not what they do
Its not going to happen

They are mobile energetic and forward thinking.

The substitutions were Embarrassing and Inept.

No formation change just rinse and repeat the same style and tactics that the opposition was tearing apart.

*0-1*
45' Doyle for DCR

*0-1*
56' Watson for Alves
56' Howell for Burns
_concede 1 minute later_

*0-2*
59' Aluko for McFarlane
_concede 1 minute later_

*0-3*
69' Bristric for Riis
_concede 8 minutes later_

WTF is that about.

Was the OXFORD Manager choosing our substitutes and keeping our shape and play style the same?

Still....
Through it all.....

No No.6 to protect the Defence is used.

Not the EnzoBall plan to have a No6 and to move a Full Back in to have 2 Defensive No.6's

We have no defensive No.6's

We play without one

Probably the only team in the 92 clubs in the EPL and EFL who think this is the best way to win games

Why is Russell Martin right

.....and everyone else wrong ?

Top, Rudkin, anyone else who makes calamity decisions for Leicester want to let us in on why?

To have a Manager blame our young players for his tactics and mismanagement of games is unforgivable.

Rangers fans to cover their eyes as Leicester supporters buy into Russell Martin's waffle How Martin's Rangers stats compare to Leicester City

Looking at the Foxes' defeat on Saturday, they secured the majority of possession on the day.

Their 63 per cent of the ball translated to 14 shots and 28 touches in the opposition box, both more than Oxford's 12 and 17 respectively.

Leicester also clocked up 208 more passes than Aaron Ramsey's side.

The U's still scored four and ran away easy winners, something which Rangers fans know all about.

Ibrox witnessed a 2-0 defeat to Hearts last year and held 66 per cent possession before taking 14 shots compared to the away side's 12.

Their 464 completed passes blew the Maroons' 186 out the water, but once again, it didn't mean anything.

Lawrence Shankland bagged a brace in Govan and secured all three points.

What happened next may get a mixed reception in the East Midlands.

Martin was eventually sacked by Rangers, but it was five games after this defeat.

It really doesn’t matter who plays if it’s martins system he played yesterday.  The game before it started to click with Oage running from deep after receiving the ball quickly. The clown then decides to change it using the worst and most hated player at the club.

we get opened up in the middle as they piss around with it.

A basic manager would work wonders with this team.

Page had a very good 1st half against Plymouth, he was given alot of space and run the game as you said.

2nd half he wasn’t as influential, Cleverley changed it and denied him the space to run into with the ball.

He's already a very good player, and if RM persist with this tactic then I would play Lundstram as 6 and put Page alongside Braybrooke.

Is this actually the case?  This cope gets rolled out to shift any criticism away from him.

He’s had the managers ear on the bench all last season, often seen in the mix with training and in a position for manager for a few games.  When he did full in he played the same players the same way.

He has been part of the dross for many seasons.  Unfit players, habits never corrected and tactics changed. Any decent coach with his time at the club would be saying how it is, making more of an impact and never play dross like Thomas and Reid.

Get rid, he’s just another lucky yes man that adds no value to the club.

People need to calm down a bit.

My position:  I didn't want RM here.  I honestly thought it was a joke that his name was merely mentioned and when he was appointed I thought it would be a disaster.  I don't want him here now.

The reality of the position:  RM has signed a three year deal.  We are 5 games into the first season.  It's been a bumpy start (to be kind) which was probably not out of the question given the trajectory of the club, the cultural problems and the biggest playing staff turnover in recent years.  We do not have the money to sack him BUT, our value as a club will be plummeting, so there are some considerations around that

Yesterday was a disaster, no question.  But, I would say that it's just one game of football.  There had been some encouraging signs and that could be measured in the mood on this forum with, dare I say it, some optimism creeping in.  Losing one game of football 4-0 isn't as bad as losing 4 games 1-0.  We scored 0 out of 3 yesterday and whether we lose 1-0, 4-0 or 9-7 it's still "just" 3 points dropped.  Whoever the manager is, we will lose again this season and drop points.

I don't see him going anywhere for at least 10 games, and if we win 5 or 6 of those, he's here until Xmas at least.

It's not just one game if football, it is five.  Still a small sample size but cause for alarm because it is panning out exactly as we thought it would based on the his previous twenty odd games of football.

You can't call this an outlier.   Quite the opposite.  It's business as usual for Russell Martin.

Thats if the ball is played quickly from the cb to Page/sammy/Lundstram.

If he plays with Thomas walking to the halfway line and blasting the ball into a congested area with opposition that can and like to tackle, the same will happen. He sets us up for a counter every time.

Portsmouth should be the blueprint to get everyone up the pitch. A quick pass for the CM turn, not pass back and drive forwards allowing the wingers to run into space.

It’s like Martin wants to play the game on extra hard mode for his first play through, first Okoli now Thomas.

Top post mate!

I’ve been saying about us never replacing Ndidi and it’s painful how easy it is to score against us.

Then you throw in, how toothless we are = recipe for disaster.

5 points from 5 games is despicable make no mistake about that. Giving Martin more time is not going to change that form in a positive way he will not get us in the playoffs let alone top 2 which is the objective for us.

He should get sacked and the f**king charlatans should sell up asap!

I was naive enough to think he might be too shit for us and the championship medium term but should be good enough to get us out of this league. How wrong I was, he's got to be finished as a football manager as I cant see what level he can be successful at

He'd be successful at no level bar one anomaly of Southampton in 2024. Two wins in twelve managing Leicester in League One and Rangers in the SPL. It's staggeringly shit. The sort of record you would back yourself to beat.

Saw a stat somewhere in the last few hours. Couldn’t quite believe it. It said since 2024 Brussel’s teams have managed only 3 league wins. That can’t be right can it?  Even a moron wouldn’t give someone like that a job.

This is Sousa all over again.

Martin is not going to improve us in the next 5 games we will continue to flounder under him and the gap to the top 6 in league one will get bigger and bigger.

I still maintain with a new manager and simplified approach, this squad will get promoted. But its baffling how noone genuinely thought in this Division you wouldn't need physicality and directness in your side.

I dont think he is the issue.

The issue is we played this football under Enzo. Then went and got Cooper who was so different and then every style since has been different.

The real randomness of our appointments has meant we have lost our identity as a club and the players dont know what to do. We need to stick with a style and run with it.

This is a style though.. would you run with this?

Alex Revell would be my standout choice if we could get him, but not a f**king chance he leaves Stevenage for us!

Of course he would FFS

Not sacking him now is  destroying are chances of the slightest hope of getting promotion this season.
action needs to be taken.
we might win next Saturday but then a week later lose again.
his style is the reason.
