True, I'm sure they are being paid well and it's a nice softener. But I reckon Hart, Rooney and Richards would love to be out there, especially when they see all their ex team mates doing it.

I  wouldn't worry too much they're all multi multi millionaires and getting paid pretty well to sit in a studio

It is just baffling that ITV decided to bin off Tyldesley and went for Sam Matterface as their leading man.
 

Jon Champion far superior. Drury is annnoying but had more gravitas. Even Seb Hutchinson is much better.

Matterface, Drury,  Fletcher and Gary Weaver all have the habit of making it about them rather being supplementary to the viewing.

 

I like innocuous commentary so games with say, Joe Speight are more enjoyable because he won’t do anything to wind me up.

Think Steve Bower has been my favourite commentator so far. Good calm voice and understated. 

 

Despise Matterface and others.

 

Was surprised to hear Martin Tyler commentate on some highlights the other night and listening to him was a breath of fresh air considering  I couldn't stand him towards the end at Sky. I'd take him back over Drury anytime.

Imagine being at D-Day with Lee Dixon next to you, you'd turn your boat around and go home because what's the point, everything is shit, we'll never amount to anything.

 

Had to switch from ITV after their goal - hopefully the vibe change results in an upturn in our performance. lol
