So hang on... let me get this straight.   Not only did Germany go out in a penalty shoot out - which I had the pleasure of watching - but they had a perfectly good winning goal ruled out in added time?  Can it be true??  This is just too ****ing good honestly.  Brilliant.  Absolutely brilliant.  We just need Argentina to lose to a handball goal and this is turning into a great world cup!

Germany will say they were hard by with a controversial VAR call and Netherlands denied late on but the BBC report suggests that Morocco deserved to win regardless.

I went to iPlayer and avoided any spoilers 

until my iPad apple notification dropped down to tell me that ‘Germany and Netherlands crash out’

The fact it’s going to penalties in the first place is a bad omen for the European teams. Brazil 2014 aside, there’s a reason why European teams always struggle in N/S America world cups. Surfaces/humidity etc. Everyone started off the day calling Brazil lucky and now they’re the only one the favourites that actually won yesterday.
