It feels like everyday the same threads appearing on incoming players who are free agents - Ings, Chaplin, McCarthy etc. How many more do we have sell, loan, bin off before we sign one of these free agents. It really does make you wonder how bad the financial situation really is.

We obviously need to offload higher earners before we bring more in.

Focus is outgoings at the moment.

Last seasons business should have made you realise how bad the financial situation is.

I thought we might have got a few free transfers over the line by now - quite a few have moved on or not had their contracts renewed. Don't really see the point a getting a new manager in with completely new ideas if the squad we are left with have not been party to it during pre-season.

Just goes to show how frail our finances are and how much harm has been done by relegation.

I'm not sure the shite has actually hit the fan with us yet.

We have to show we forecast to stay within the 65% of turnover constantly, not just submit a financial forecast at the start and then hope to make ends meet at the end of the season and sell.

We seemed to have a lot of young hungry players in friendly, just need a young striker from somewhere, and then put a ban on inbound players so we cant do more damage.

Would it be bad to force a few out? Not sure if we are avoiding it so we don't put off future signings, but surely the crap high earners would push harder for a move, even cut price, if those knew they won't even be in the squad, affectively hurting their careers...

In terms of spending cash, I would imagine they are trying to create some headroom with book value. Currently we roughly have the following still on the books:

- Faes - £3m per year.

- Souttar - £3m per year.

- Okoli - £2.6m per year.

- Kristensen - £3.4m per year.

- Skipp - £4m per year.

- Mavididi - £1.3m per year.

- Fatawu - £3m per year.

That total's around £20.3m currently on the books and we have raised around £14.5m profit through the sales of BEK and Monga. Obviously this is not including wages which I assume for most of these are huge for league one.
