Youth player to compete with our own youth players, im not sure i see the point.

An old head on a 1 year deal would have made more sense.

I don't see the logic,
- We don't have a youth prospect that is remotely ready to challenge Luke Thomas. Mirsad Ali is a long way off it.
- Your issue about our own youth then becomes irrelevant if it's an experienced player, ok ....

The profile of the player in whoever we target is the most important factor, if an experienced player of certain profile isn't available for loan then there is nothing wrong with signing a youth player.

Like lot's have said, he is very fast and strong defensively, we have recruited experienced pro's further up the pitch (Cullen) who are SLOW, so player's like him and Aluko / JJ will be massively important.

Pearson utilised the loan youth market very well last time too

Of all the players we were / are linked with, this one I was most excited for. I think he's got tremendous potential and left back has been a position we have struggled with for years.

How long till he gets RSI in his hip from passing backwards.  Any wingers on the horizon that pass and move?

Didn't Middlesbrough try and buy him in Jan?

West Ham also bid around 10M a few years back. I actually think Luke is fine for L1, but this lads not coming here to sit on the bench. Woyo will leave on loan again, unless Russell sees him as a LW.

Not the first signing we will see coming our way from Man City. I am hoping and praying we can finesse Max Alleyne on a permanent deal to replace one of our outgoing centre backs. Great to see the club doing proactive business 🙏

As long as we don't follow the same pattern of the previous 4 seasons then fair enough.

As we appear to be scouting RM ex players alongside Man City youth players I am bothered that we may be continuing our incompetence in the transfer market.

I just hope the positivity of pre-season carries on into the team selection in the league.

Alleyne will go to a PL club, at worst top end Championship like M'boro

I still have nightmares of that Bristol City game, when Ryan McGivern got his soul destroyed by Ivan Sproule.

Didn’t he give away two penalties that game? Was there also a red card there too, maybe not for him but I swear I remember that? My age could be playing on me now.

I reckon we get alleyne on a loan, obligation to buy on promotion, with a 20m buy back clause. Similar to what they did with James Trafford. We have been linked and being in a team that seeks to dominate will help him rather than being in a more chaotic championship team. He was badly found out last season when he was recalled so clearly has a lot of developing to do, and he's 21 years old, which is crunch time for a burgeoning professional cb. Don't rule it out.

Woyo is off then? Or is he a right back? Can’t even remember seeing him play a competitive game… the forgotten man 🤣

Almost certainly will, but he can't play every game in a season as long as the one we are about to have.

Nevermind...

We don’t have the cash to do such a deal. Man City be looking upwards of £5 m at least in any obligation.

He really impressed for Watford, I can't see them loaning him out to a team in L1 in a million years
