A player with the right attitude would still put in good performances, just like JJ did!

Remember he was a kid. He looked great to begin with so I assume he just couldn’t rise above the overall malaise.  JJ did but he had a lot more experience

I do like the idea that we play with two super athletic fullbacks that are happy to get forward in McFarlane and Aluko.

Obviously we'll start the season with Hamza and Thomas though because that's the sort of thing we'd do.

We've not really had a left footed left back in ages bar Thomas, which seems mental. Think Coulibaly probably got underused last season (if you look at what our first choice actually served up) but I didn't really want him on the left either.

Am I forgetting someone here? Surely there has been another one since Fuchs?

Chilwell.

Was Coulibaly even here last season? I thought he was on loan.

God ****ing hell yeah. Even still though I've just no idea why we keep putting a square peg in round hole on this position.

Coulibaly was out on loan but I highly doubt he'd have done worse than Ricardo.

Thanks Enzo 🤝

Position we need to strengthen

Won’t cost us much

Trained in a possession system

Potentially the perfect signing for League 1.
Early days but the McCarron/Martin era looks to have us turning a corner in terms of the general feeling around the club, Enzo did the same where he very quickly turned the ship around and made us feel like the rot was being stopped.

I've no idea if McFarlane is any good and I hope he has a great season for us.  Find it a little odd to be signing a left back though when we need to strengthen other positions.  Surely Thomas and Coulibaly are more than good enough for League 1, I'd assume one of them is probably off.

Unless we are playing Thomas as a striker

Kristiansen as well actually.

Does he count as a footballer? Glass knees, struggles to cross or pass, physically weak, always looks knackered after 5 mins of running...

Would rather Thomas went for some cash, higher wage off books and kept coulibaly as back up to McFarlane. not sure i can deal with his 'i'm about to cry' face when he gets caught under a cross for a far post header.

Kristiansen, but you'd be forgiven for forgetting he ever existed

Pace, height and in a position we have very little coming through the academy. Probably have no chance of a permanent transfer which is the only real negative.

Humbling for Thomas, that. Club’s been relegated to League One and a kid from Man City is brought in to play in front of him.

And rightly so after last season. I believe there’s more than enough ability there (even with all of his flaws) to be perfectly adequate in League One.

But I don’t want him anywhere near the team because he’s just as culpable as the links of Faes and Winks for the rotten culture around the place. As a Leicester lad (and supposed fan), he should have been head and shoulders above the rest in showing that he cared and was trying to do something about the disaster unfolding - he withered instead.

So I hope this kid makes the position his own and thrives.

Anyone they’d let drop to league 1 they’d be happy to sell

But maybe for a fee greater than we could afford. They've done loans to League One and then Champ etc and gone for several million like Doyle etc. The one outlier was Morgan Rogers.

We got no youth for the position?

I'm quite amazed how many people seem to know anything about this guy.

Probably because he's a left back, part American, quite tall looking, looks like he's quick and likes to get forward. I'm getting Antonee Robinson vibes.
