Charlie Meffin says Top is rumoured to want £140m, so really how much are we worth?

On Talksport the other day they were talking about Charlie Meffin saying we’re only worth £140m great discussion well worth a view !

The Peterborough owner came out and really slammed that valuation, would be interested to see who is closer to the truth, as he seems to be fairly close to the club so could be fluffing us up a bit

Charlie Methven didn't value the club at £140m, he valued us at more like £30m to £40m.

 

The £140m came from what he has heard is Top's asking price.

Also, the owner of a club in League One has a vested interest in saying a League One club is worth a lot.

 

I think there is also a distinction between value and sale price. Our debt plays a big part in the latter.

Probably best to remove the "m" from these values as I suspect there will be some debt attached to the sale value

Having valuable assets means you can get more favourable loans etc against the value of those assets. Also, you don't need to be selling something right nkw to want it's value to increase generally.

But what is he selling for 140m?

 

As i understand it the club owns Belvoir Drive and the contracted players.

 

KP own Seagrave and the Stadium.

If you take the training ground into consideration then its worth maybe close to that.

£140 million is actually quite reasonable considering our assets and fan base, as well as recent(ish) success. 

 

That is why I suspect Top is stupidly asking for even more than that and scaring away potential buyers. 

 

Not sure Charlie Meffin has that much inside info to be honest, but it does generate views and attention for him to pretend he does.
