It would seem the Official Attendance was 1706.

 

Surely with say £6 tickets and free for kids they would have got a bigger crowd especially as it was a 7pm KO. They'd more or less only need to double the adult attendance to make the same money and they'd still only need to open the West Stand

 

What a plus it would have been to have the stadium with loads of kids, future adult fans probably seeing their first live game 

 

History tells us via FNF that that is entirely feasible

Agree, pricing was poor for the game, but is reflective of the club thinking in general.

After listening to those kids singing ‘we want 5/6/7’ all night I’d have quadrupled the price for kids!

Yeah last night and the build up to it was another howler from the club.

 

Despite our recent fortunes and attitudes towards the club and owners as well as the fixture itself..there still should’ve been at least triple what was there last night.

 

Look at the attendances we got in L1 last time in the FL trophy as well as FA Cup 1st and 2nd rounds. All were between 7-8K. 
 

The club clearly failed to engage with local schools, youth football clubs as well as ST holders and members. 
 

Yet another example of the complete ineptitude at the club.

Do the participating clubs get to set ticket prices? Or perhaps they are instructed by the tournament organiser's

I was thinking about FNF the other day, great memories. Picking up the photocopied team sheet and finding some mysterious trialist on there.

I hate the thought of those that attended thinking they're some kind of better supporter and using it when we're not shit again as an 'I was there'. Mugs.

I get the idea of wanting more kids involved and I do think that kids should have gone free but ultimately nearly 2k for a youth game is still quite a lot of people - way more than I thought there would be.

 

Everything about last night's fixture was going to paint the club in a bad light, simply because of the situation we're in. There's no way we should be playing in this competition.

 

I also don't actually think any young lad is going to that game and coming away from it excited if it's their first time experiencing live football.

Already had someone try and claim I won't be able to get a ticket for Wembley if we get to the final in the most smug tone imaginable. All because I wasn't one of the 2k fans at the game last night.

As many will say, FNF was my first taste of Leicester.

The club gets as it deserves as it treats fans as a disposable cash cow. 

 

Back in the late 90s the club had some decent business and marketing minds running the show. I think FNF was an idea of Pierpoint who despite not being liked in the end seemed to have a very forward thinking business mind. Now the club is stuck in the dark ages. It symptomatic of the general malaise.

We should have given as many free tickets to schools as possible. They’ll have sold less than £20k worth of tickets, filling the stadium with freebies would have been much better.

I disagree it really doesn't matter what level the game was it was guaranteed to have plenty of 1st teamers in there and a night match at the stadium would leave many a first time youngster in awe.

 

Check some of the posts in here and their reference to FNF which was just the reserves plus a few youngsters plus some trialists and they drew much bigger gates than last night.

 

I actually think the club, on principle will not look back on any good idea pre KP and use it. for them History is bunk unless it enables them to stick their name next to 1884.

Liverpool n utd fnf fixtures. The highest reserve attendance s untill the Cantona return game.

 

I would guess those three fixtures are still the highest attendance for reserve games.

Looked this up. Slightly different to other cup games, but to our detriment.

 

The host club set the price themselves. In other cup games, the price would be decided between both clubs.

 

So we only have ourselves to blame.

They don't seem interested in expanding or growing a new support base, they seem happy with the fans they have.  I guess when you sell out season tickets when the clubs in freefall they don't have to.

I think it did back in the day. I don't think that modern day kids who have access to the world on their tablets and smartphones really care for a game like last night.
