Watching 1408, psychological horror - old style with John Cusack. Free on Youtube. Seems decent if a little dated.

Room 1408? Decent film, got a few scary bits and a general feeling of claustrophobia.

Nuremberg

great film

Big fan of Russell Crowe.

But him playing Göring? Just doesn't work for me.

I'd rather stick to the 1961 version Judgment at Nuremberg.

I enjoyed the new Avatar. A long film at 3 hours 20 mins but it doesn't feel like they've dragged it out

Do I need to see Way Of The Water to see this one?

Just realised what a soppy sod I am watching Train Dreams on NETFLIX, gentle story and I found it so sad. 😢

I really enjoyed it, sad though it is. Just about finishing reading the novella it is based on too.

50 years this week since the release of one of the most beautiful films ever made.

Absolutely stunning cinematography. Every frame could act as its own painting.

Went to a special screening in late November, and am now the proud owner of the 4K Blu-ray release.

Crowe was a bit too avuncular a bit too likeable. Didn't quite capture the intellect and political menace.

The Brian Cox performance, early 2000s, balanced it better

Rented One Battle after Another at half time.

it’s been a battle to sit though it.

I know it’s been nominated for a lot of awards but I just thought it would be a lot better than what it is. 2hrs and 45 minutes when they could have done it in 2hrs.

Needed a bit more action and a little less

dialogue.

That is how I felt about it.

I think part of the problem for it, or any movie that gets such high praise, is that you expect it to blow you away and it just didn't.

I still thought it was good and maybe I'll give it a second viewing, at some point.
