Interesting. Overseas options. Windies touring?

The Shah option would be great. Create interest.

Not sure who's on what contract, Javid, Ali, Dexter will go. Dearden isn't good enough.

I'd like to see Lilley get a few games. I have a hunch he is a player that can improve. Play as a spinner who can bat. Parkinson averages 45 with the ball in red ball cricket so surely worth a look?

I've send Nicko a email on recruitment options who knows if he gets it no harm in trying eh?

Spoke to Darren Stevens at TB this morning says he would love to come back but don't think they have the money though he's not asking for a lot

Think this would be a great signing, still playing to a very high standard at 43! It would take some of the pressure of the younger bowlers or covering for future contract for Abbas, maybe they could sweeten the deal with a coaching role and role model for the young players?

I've not heard a great deal. One of Stevo or Peter Trego would be useful. Don't want to many old boys but one of those two would be great.

A quality overseas obviously be good, batsmen who can bowl, Roston Chase or Shah?

Parkinson's bowling isn't good enough and we haven't got anyone other than Ackerman to do a job. Unless Lilley cab step up.

Need another top order bat, I like the look of Nick Welch when I've seen 2s play.

Another seamer, Footit, don't know his fitness now? Possible to get Zak Chapple back. Loan for a start? Not getting in Notts side and it's rubbish by their standards.

Callum Haggert leaving Kent decent seamer.

Release Klein, Dearden, Dexter, Ali, Javid getting you nowhere.

If we're skint I'd get in Stevens as player bowling coach now MM's off and Chappell in on loan.

Rhodes ground it out well.

We need to tie Swindells down as he's a talent in multiple formats.

We may not have an oversea next year. Abbas was great first season but not great this season. There is also the threat of international call up with him, he can't bat and he's a 4 day specialist. We've missed a Clint McKay.

We've got six seamers for next year - Wright, Taylor, Mike, Griffiths, Davis, Evans - so it depends who the overseas player is, if he is a bat then we probably need another seamer, if he is a seamer then we need another batsman. Unless the money is there and they can make a real difference, I personally don't think there is much point signing more players when we'll have 17/18 players contracted, instead it would be more prudent to use the loan system. Both Derbyshire and Northants has done this effectively throughout the last couple of seasons.

Spin will have to come from Parkinson, Ackermann, Lilley and Rhodes, I don't see how there is space in the squad for another one. Obviously they can review that situation at the end of 2020. Karl Carver has just been released by Yorkshire and arguably he has the potential to be a good left-arm spinner, but where do these guys get the chance to develop when the championship is squeezed into either end of the summer?

Anyone else fed up with the poor old Nico hands are tired etc Northants and Derby compete with no bigger wage bills then ours and on paper not any better then us.Having said all that shows how skint . the  club are that they have cancelled the old players day that was due for the first day of the Lancs match to save money the annual cost was around £800.

Desperate really. Still not sure about Horton, Captain, doesn't lead well on the field and his batting is inconsistent, plus not a white ball player. On top of that is one of the top earners.

No value at all.

So many repeat dismissals. Batsman's trigger movement is to off stump, they then try and play a straight ball to leg, miss, and are given LBW. Long format batting coaching advises to hit only through the V until you're in. We have a full time batting coach to sort this stuff out, and it's basic technical stuff. Sure batters make mistakes, and sometimes you just accept it when you get a good ball, but this isn't complex stuff

Just had a response from Nicko confirming he's looking at overseas players at the end of the season and thank me for my suggestions!

Saw Darren Stevens take another 5 for today the man is so consistant!

That's positive at least

On the subject of recruitment do we know of any rumours of being linked to anyone for next season?

You hear that many stories around the ground who knows what's true or not.Couple of things I was told yesterday 1 according to someone who knows Roy Bent very well he was acting CEO when Khan left the club held a meeting last week with the ECB to discuss a 5 year rescue plan and they will not have an OS player next year and maybe not for the next 5 years Ouch if that's true.2 David Wilson who loaned the club money at the start of the season to pay the wages bills etc wants the loan repaid.

Will Davis has had a decent season. Always gives his best and Evans looks a great prospect, if Taylor and Wright along with Gritthiths stay fit seam bowling is one of the more positive aspects.

Still think we need a spinner. Parkinson trys hard but not good enough in red ball cricket. Can't even keep the runs down.

What about the additional income all counties are supposed to be getting from The Hundred, will that not have an impact on our finances? That was supposed to be the main recent counties voted for it.

I did ask that question don't know was the answer.Made me laugh that our new chairwoman who said on Radio Leicester the other week that she's a life long cricket fan had never heard of Matthew Hoggard when he came down to a T20 match recently
