It's a good point, he could be clutching at straws himself and I'm not sure playing for Holland would count in terms of being an overseas player as they are not test playing nation.

I don't think it will. Ireland are now overseas I see, Sterling Murtagh etc

West Indies are touring let's look at picking an overseas up from them.

Not Cornwall maybe. Not sure the tea ladies could cope with him and Cossie.

Having said that it would put us in the limelight to sign him! Tidy spinner

Would love to see Hetmyer in all three formats.

Grace Road named as one of the venues for the Woman's 100 next year hopefully the club makes some decent money out of this although really can't see many fans coming to watch I know I wont be going to watch it

The whole thing is a disgrace and the downside is there's obviously a cost to put these events up with virtually no one turning up. But what can we do

Someone needs to have a word with Top and Susan and get them interested in cricket (if they're not already).

Wouldn't be a huge money spinner for them but they'd become even more popular in our fine city.

You would think that someone would approach them, surely they must have thought about this already haven't they?

Maybe not? Has it ever come up at the members forum?

They can be Leicester's answer to Sir John Madjeski. Don't forget the Tigers are also up for sale

They could buy all three clubs and be even more popular around Leics!

Then again, I'm sure some moaning local people would find fault. "Bloody foreigners taking over our city and sport" etc etc etc

If only we knew someone who had access and contacts in the club

Weird question for you here;

What's Leicester Electricity Sports Cricket Club? And what's the difference between that and Leicestershire Cricket Club?

Random question i know, but was looking on google maps, noticed the 'patch' of greenery between the KP and Welford Road, as couldn't help think it would be the perfect spot for Leicestershire to be given it being fairly central and located near the other 2 large sport venues in the city.

Pretty certain it's just a normal local team. I've played against them whilst playing for sapcote, and when I was at dmu we used to train there. Their ground is nice but no space for expansion with new-build flats and old factories all around. The ground is nice but it's not that big.

Cheers mate.

Wasn't sure if it was a case of a 'breakaway' from Leicestershire or something similar.

But makes sense, the location looks perfect but if it's built up it would be fairly hard to expand.

That's the pitch near the stadium, isn't it? The location is excellent but there's no way you'd be able to fit decent sized stands in, plus catering facilities and nets/ indoor school like at Grace Road.

My old man brought it up at a Forum a couple of years ago that was live ono Radio Leicester. He got ridiculed by everyone involved including Dagnall & Rae. Funnily though, he told Dagnall to shut up (who then got the hump!!). Then brought it up again a on RL a year later and was ridiculed again, including a load of people on twitter. His point was, if you aim for the start, you might just get a sprinkling of stardust on the way down. He was really pissed off with our acceptance of mediocracy and low  / non existent ambitions.

The Leccy Sports ground is where county used to play years and years ago. Pavilion is still quite nice and possibly listed (?)

Play in the Leicestershire League, guess it was originally formed as a works team by the leccy company.

As mentioned, County switched there from Grace Road for a bit in the early 20th century but later went back.
