LPJ Kimber has today got 178 for the 2s!

A few of the signings are playing also... in fact, here's the line up....

GH Rhodes*, SD Bates†, RK Patel, NR Welch, S Steel, LPJ Kimber, JM Lysaught, D Church, E Barnes, U Modhwadia, A Sakande, HA Evans

Think Sakande used to play for Sussex

Kimber and another fella (not in our 2s) seem to have made a habit of making hatfuls for Lincolnshire.

Kimber has opened with Azad for Loughborough too, I think?

Yep Kimber is Mustard at that level, probably the best Minor County - Club bat around. May be worth a look at a higher level, some people can make the step up. Obviously Azad is one.

Abi Sakande be one I'd give a go.

Ivan Thomas who has a good record in first class cricket was released by Kent now playing Club Cricket.

Few of our bowlers burgling a living.

Ivan Thomas is a decent bowler and by all accounts also a decent guy. Maybe too much of a decent fun guy; but I shall say no more.

Ivan Thomas:

Not for us in my view; although I think I did suggest it a year or so ago.

Pros:

Excellent ginger beard

Tall

Runs in and runs in and runs in and runs in.

First class average of around 30 with the ball; some of that probably in division 1.

Despite not being prolifically dangerous, he was rarely hugely expensive and did take key wickets.

Once contributed ONE run to a partnership of 100. I'm sure it was him.

Apparently a nice bloke.

Cons:

Can't bat. Might even bat 11 for us.. and that really is saying something

Not that interested in fielding; looks like fast bowlers did when fielding about 30 years ago (and our fielding is actually alright)

Not that quick and not that dangerous (although all relative)

Has had a bit of a torrid time with injury.

About 30 years old and not going to get any better.

Kimber's brother plays as well doesn't he? I've picked that up from scorecards. Looks like they both regularly bowl at that level too.

I know nothing about Sakande at all.

Here is Notts' link to the scorecard for the 2nd XL as our website doesn't seem to be bothering with it so far - they used to tweet the scores as well. They've even got video clips of the game on their site.

I heard Sakande being interviewed last year and he was keen to continue playing cricket and to try a make a career out of it. Not the case with every released cricketer as they can often earn more elsewhere.

Not encouraging that Barnes isn't bowling

We've used 8 bowlers and he hasn't been used!!

Simply must have picked up a knock in the game otherwise why play him?

Yeah true. I think he likes a good night out. Quicker and taller than any of our lot but may be to much of a risk.

Alot of injury as you say.

We need a different option.
