Well I hope he is reinstated. I love the show and Clarkson makes it what it is, will never watch it again if he's not presenting it.

Used to love it but change is way WAY overdue IMO.  Chris Harris would be a great person to look at straight off the bat.

To those saying that Top Gear & the BBC will be ****ed without Jeremy Clarkson & Friends....with these things it's usually the other way around.

After the BBC allowed their top boys to become untouchable in the 70s and 80s there isn't a cat in hells chance they will allow him to come back after this....he has had his nine lives.

As much as he can try and present himself as the downtrodden hero of the people....deep down he will know that this is all his own fault.

If he actually punched the bloke and wasn't reasonably provoked then he's got no leg to stand on really, you just can't do that. I like top gear, it's a bit of light hearted nonsense on a Sunday, with three people playing massively inflated characters of their true selves (something many critics don't really get). I'd like it to continue with them, but if that's what he's actually done I don't see how it can.

A lot of media outlets also reporting now that it started with Clarkson (heavily drunk as usual) shouting 'Oi where's our hot food, you lazy ****ing Irish ****' and promising to make sure that the producer would lose his job.

Sounds Clarkson like.

Be interesting to see if tonight's davehd top gear has higher viewing figures the bbc2 carribean.

Playing fast and loose with the word interesting there

If Chris Evans gets the job that'll be the end of it for me. He has no wit at all just a slimy flamboyance that's completely at odds with what the show is about.

Great for Clarkson if he goes to Netflix though.

They can't replace him with anyone, should just end the show now. By even thinking of replacing him, or all three, shows the bbc have no idea why the show is so popular.

Evans has denied this on his radio 2 show saying there is nothing in the story.

my thoughts on this matter is, if he has broke the bbc's rules then he has to go. the BBC will know as well as anyone they lose Clarkson they lose top gears viewership.

i love top gear. this series has been....mediocre at best but in my eyes Clarkson IS top gear in my eyes. hammond and may have moved on to other stuff too but to me, if he is sacked the show will end.

Clarkson will get a job somewhere we all know that

Seems as though he's been sacked, which is a shame as it will undoubtedly overshaddow the news of Dion Dublin bagging the Homes Under the Hammer job. Travesty.

Or nothings actually happened......(Which I'll admit, means it probably has)

Wait what?! The Dubster on Home Under the Hammer? What is this sorcery?!

it will be relaunched in another format with a slightly different name. The new presenter(s) will bring their own style to it. Anyone that likes car programmes will watch it and it may even become as popular.

Yeah just noticed that, would be quite the u-turn for him to come back now I guess, but we shall see.

I don't watch top gear for the cars I watch it because the 3 presenters are funny.

If they get rid of them I'm not going to watch it as it will just be a car show. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who feels like that

Precisely why no-one watches Fifth Gear. Is it even still on? I genuinely don't know.
