StanSP Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 Look, Man U are alright - but they're no Man City. Who's in Europe this year? (I know I could have picked a lot more things but yeah) Man City have money, but they believe that there success will come instantly, and easily. It won't. They're just buying everyone to stop other clubs buying them.

They're just buying everyone to stop other clubs buying them. We should do the same. Why doesn't someone put the idea to M.M.?

Agreed, I don't think the players will gell myself and I think that it may turn on Hughes - I mean, how can he keep Tevez/Santa Cruz/Robinho/Adebayor/Bellamy all happy. As always Manchester United will win the league, but it would be nice if Liverpool won it for the next few years. On the Yann Kermorgant issue, we (certainly I) haven't seen him play and don't know who he is but at least - if this romour is true - Nigel is taking a look at a big striker.
Daggers Posted 20 July 2009 Posted 20 July 2009 I wonder if people would have had as much scepticism if we were signing Michael Owen... he went to united on a free. Same principle if you ask me. a) We aren't. b) They would. c) It isn't - Kermit is effectively a non-league player.
General Smuts Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 Are we all forgetting the young goal machine target man we already have at our disposal? Step forward 'Slick' Ricky Sappleton.
Corky Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 Are we all forgetting the young goal machine target man we already have at our disposal? Step forward 'Slick' Ricky Sappleton. What about his run before he decided to sit on the ball?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 Look how maverick he looks in this picture. He can do overhead kicks and looks like a leathal renegade in a scarf. Sign him up.
General Smuts Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 What about his run before he decided to sit on the ball? Turned the defender inside out didn't he? Fooled everyone with his genius (genii?). And it would have got him an assist could Weso finish.
Spark Fox Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Turned the defender inside out didn't he? Fooled everyone with his genius (genii?). And it would have got him an assist could Weso finish. I've never seen any leicester player provide finishes like the ones Kermorgant scored against Nancy for Riems in the 07/08 season. Except maybe the goal muzzy scored v grimsby. Nancy aren't the best, but they certainly aren't a league one standard side. I wouldn't mind us taking a look at him. Even if he was shit, if he scored a goal anything like that in front of the kop - we would all go banana's. Trust in Nige.
MPH Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 i think this thread alone is evidence of how much some leicester fans are desperate for us to sign a striker... 6 pages on an unknown french league player? wasnt even picked up by the french first division this season.... 3-4 more pages and he will be as good as Ronaldo in some peoples eyes...

flanimal Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 fook it, I'm gonna go get KERMALDO put on my Leicester shirt tomorrow!
Cropwellfox Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 According to the french press (and some highly suspect free translation websites), it would appear that Yann is on his way for a trial this week!!!! L'Equipe: Yann Kermorgant attacks in England. Having refused Cæn and Guingamp, the ancient of Grenoble is going to test in England. It will make itself to Leicester next week for a try.
flanimal Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Oh man, he's a froggie Frenchman - he must be good! Come on Pearson! Sign 'Kermo the Frog' now!
CosbehFox Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2009/...kermorgant.html Can anyone translate the comment about him. Translation says something like 'damage done, good player never remain in France, good in front of goal but a little heavy'
AjcW Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 The ever reliable Babelfish Leicester tests Kermorgant After having refused offers of Caen and Guingamp, l' attacker Yann Kermorgant should carry out tests in England. According to L' Equip, it will go to Leicester (the 2nd division) the next week for a test. 27 years old, the player is at the end of the contract with Rheims, relegated in National.
bocadillo Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Leicester City are reportedly in talks with powerful French striker Yann Kermorgant of Stade de Reims. The 6ft tall frontman scored nine times in the French second division last term, but will be allowed to leave Reims after they failed to gain promotion. The 27-year-old is currently training with his local club Vannes but is thought to be keen on a move to the Walkers Stadium. eh? Failed to win promotion?? They were relegated!

The Birch Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 eh? Failed to win promotion?? They were relegated! 'failed to win promotion' is just a nicer way of putting finished bottom and were relegated.
tontondan Posted 27 July 2009 Posted 27 July 2009 'failed to win promotion' is just a nicer way of putting finished bottom and were relegated. Yes Reims has been relegated ... It is all the more creditable for Yann have managed to score 9 goals and providing 10 assists on 40 goals scored by the team .... Is 19/40 = 47.5% It is becoming the source of many additional goals like the second and third goal against Strasbourg (then second championship) http://top-news.fr/reims-strasbourg-video-...me-et-des-buts/ When I see this abstract as well as against Boulogne (promoted to league 1) I find it hard to understand what happened this year. http://www.last-video.com/boulogne-reims-0...t-gragnic-video
Mark Posted 27 July 2009 Posted 27 July 2009 I had wondered why we hadn't given number 18 to anyone. http://www.brest.maville.com/of-photos/200...uestfrance_.jpg http://b7.img.v4.skyrock.net/b75/slg/pics/...69171_small.jpg

Good leap for one of his goals.
