kylestyle06 Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Why is is a shit away day? Surely with 6000 of us going it will be great. Take it you've never been cov away?
Matt Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Why is is a shit away day? Surely with 6000 of us going it will be great. Without sounding like a 'snob' or 'I'm a better fan than you' because i'm not, I don't go to every away game, but I do go more than the 'daytripper', and this is i'm afraid to say a shit away day because of the daytrippers and family's who have as much right as anyone to go but it just seems they are not you typical, 'get behind the team' fans, which is a shame. I'd much rather go somewhere like Barnsley, Palace, e.t.c and take 2,500 - 3,000 than go Coventry and take 6,000, because it's a better atmosphere. It's not just our fans that make this a shit away day though, I find Coventry's stadium a dreary, depressing place, and the lack of banter because of their pisspoor attendances also accumulate in this game being poor as far as atmosphere is concerned. Why am I going? Because I along with many I hate Coventry and see this as our local derby, to me it's more important than Forest or Derby (Although it seems it is frownd upon on here to 'hate' Coventry) and it's the first game of the season.

Yea, agree with most of this. Cov away is often full of daytrippers, barely half the end stands and the atmosphere is never great. However, the chavs in the corner to the right of us pretty much out-sung us last year, it's not as if their fans aren't giving us anything, just a very small section. I'm going with a much more positive outlook this season though. It's the 1st game of the season, the general atmosphere around the club seems upbeat and our away outings the last few season have improved since the legendary aways of League 1. I'm going with the mindset that it's going to be a great day out, 3 points on the board, top of the league, good performance and our end going mental!!
acooling08 Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 But surely that would apply to any derby? I went to Forest last season and it was electric. I am going to be standing and signing for 90 minutes.
Craig Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 But surely that would apply to any derby? I went to Forest last season and it was electric. I am going to be standing and signing for 90 minutes. Nah, Cov's much much worse than Forest/Derby.
covefox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Yes it is, I was charged £23, you'de have thought after 125+ years they'de have learnt how to sell tickets by now. ticket in today, was charged £22 so no booking fee.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Atmosphere isnty as good as Forest or Derby, but wouldnt say it is shocking, just rather average. £22 a ticket isnt bad though!
lovelcfc Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Rang up ticket office and got through straight away sorted :sge:
Yojoe36 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 It's not sold out yet?! Very surprising. Should be by Monday hopefully. We need to invade the Ricoh!!
Harborough casual Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Once we have sold the 6000, we can have another 2000 that was said today in the ticket office.

ajthefox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 got me and a mate tickets yesterday, well excited for this. Never been Cov but more importantly opening day of the season!!
Spudulike Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I'm in Block 6 which is towards the corner. Isn't that the bit that normally gets closed off
PAULCFC Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Cov is Cov and people who have been before will know what i mean .Wasn't going to bother, but being the first game of the season and a reasonable price against my better judgement got a ticket.
Father Ted Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I'm torn... I sworn never to go to Cov again after being twice before and after being told to sit down on the SECOND TO TOP row but it's the first game of the season and I I'm really excited about our new team!
lestajigs Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Once we have sold the 6000, we can have another 2000 that was said today in the ticket office. Bloody hell 8000
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Does anyone know how many tickets we have sold so far? Got my ticket cannot wait, hopefully the atmosphere is immense!
