Captain... Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 YES! Yes, yes yes. You're the only person I've ever heard mention this incident. There was so much made of how he 'dived'. I have always believed that contact shouldn't have as much to do with it. You see players lunging in all the time and the dribbler has to jump out the way to avoid getting cropped. If there's no contact the commentators or people I'm watching it will say "Oh, there's no contact, it's a blatant dive." How do they not understand that it's obviously an infringement and the only reason they've had to do that is to stop getting hurt. It was ludicrous to accuse him of diving instead of praising him for trying to stay on his feet. I was also a big fan of Eduardo being banned for 3 matches, but then it was rescinded because some contact was made, there was only contact made because he flicked his leg out at an unnatural angle to ensure that contact was made. Just start punishing retrospectively, it needs a manager, someone like Tony Pulis to take a stand and be proud of his team when they don't dive, make the players aware that not diving is something to be proud about it, and winning through an illegally gained penalty is not winning at all it is cheating.
leicesterisme Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 If Hoillet isn't at a top 6 club next season I'll be amazed.
VinceNoir Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 I've got a feeling Rivers will nick this. Hope you're right!
leicesterisme Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Two cracking saves just before half time from David De Gea.
Fox92 Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 If Hoillet isn't at a top 6 club next season I'll be amazed. Agreed. Another underrated player, thought this all season.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 1-0 Man Utd Sounds like they have so many fans there.
leicesterisme Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Superb finish by Valencia. To be fair United's fans are top class.
Super_horns Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Could be all over by tthe big game on the 30th now...Sky will be disappointed! As for diving...players need to be at least punished afterwards for it with a ban of some sort. Bit like with the dissent - as in rugby it needs a real punishment. Not a quick telling off.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Utd will have the title rapped up soon enough I fear...

Corky Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Newcastle still on for 4th. Cisse looks a superb finisher.
Haydos Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Papiss Cisse looks absolute quality. Such good feet. Literally every goal he's scored this season he's had to adjust his feet and finish accordingly. His 2nd goal today was sublime. The first touch, just cushioning it into his path before he adjusted, whilst falling away, and just swiping his foot under the ball to lift it beyond Vorm. You won't see many better finishes this season IMO.
HEGGSY Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Papiss Cisse looks absolute quality. Absolutely immense signing from Pardew.
Raw Dykes Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 How does everyone reckon Newcastle will get on next season? I hope to see them break into the top 4, at Arsenal's expense, ideally. Do you think they can repeat this season's performance next year? Do you think, like me, it could be a one-off? Can they keep hold of Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa?
ScouseFox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 It'll be tricky, that's for sure. Arsenal won't start that badly again. Chelsea won't be this shit again. Liverpool might actually beat someone (not that realistic but you never know). So you're looking at, assuming United and City dominate again, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle, Arsenal and Liverpool all having ambitions to get into those two places. Should be interesting to see what goes on in the summer, for sure.

The question for me is that if they were to achieve such a feat, would it be the greatest achievement in the history of the Premier League....?
purpleronnie Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 The question for me is that if they were to achieve such a feat, would it be the greatest achievement in the history of the Premier League....? Not really seeing as the quality of the premiership has nosedived.
