If it wasn't for the BBC reporting the Whitbread story you'd probably still be waiting on the OS, they only put it up so soon because it was then common knowledge. Ignorance is bliss - I'd rather just wake up one morning and see that we've signed a player, rather than have someone say about two weeks before that they know who it is but they're not going to tell me. I'm not telling you what to do or having a go or anything, I just think if you tell people we're signing someone but you can't say who it is, of course you're going to get some people on your back about it. If you can say who it is then go for it, but there's not a lot of point if you can't is there? I feel for you, because you obviously do have a bit of inside info, as does Bert, but you must know that you're always going to get people out there giving you grief? If it were me, I wouldn't bother. The problem with the rise of social media, especially twitter, is that it's made the transfer windows unbearable. It's just a constant stream of rumour from forums, facebook, twitter and the papers every day and it winds people up when they read all this stuff and wonder why we haven't signed about 10 players by the end of June. Honestly mate, I don't know what you get out of it and I wouldn't bother if I were you, it doesn't seem to be worth the grief.
