Mark_w Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Those 3 are nowhere near good enough, remains to be seen whether Vardy can make the step up but we need to score 65+ goals to get promoted and I can't see those 5 getting even half of them. It remains to be seen whether Futacs can do well in the Championship surely, didn't play a massive number of games for Pompey and he hasn't been brought to be our goalscorer. Waghorn in his only real full Championship season scored more than perfect Beckford did for us last year and got more assists, and Schlupp is only a kid, maybe not ready yet but he shouldn't be dismissed until he has had a good run in the team or until he has gone out on loan to a fellow Championship club. I have no idea how we could replace his 9 league goals. But Babs, there's no way we'll replace his six cup goals, our FA Cup run is over before it began.

I'm a beckford fan I must admit. And as for us signing Rhodes??? Really? Do you actually think he's a possibility ? Because I really don't. I don't think np will get anyone to replace him.

Dan Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 How anyone can say Beckford was even close to Nugent last year is just beyond me, absolutely nowhere near, Nugent was better at literally everything. I stand by too if Schlupp had played every minute Beckford had played, he would have more goals than Beckford.

I've always thought there is something about him we have failed to take advantage of but never mind. Over to you Jeff Schlupp.

How on earth could anyone think that his value would have gone up in the last 12 months? He scored less in the Championship last year than he did in the Premiership the year before we brought him. I'd be baffled if we made our money back in terms of the transfer fee.
jock2612 Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 I think at this stage we have to trust NP,but i think JB could have been good this season.This could be the clubs biggest decision of the season.30k is an awful lot of money and if Pearson is not going to play the type of game that will see the best of JB then perhaps we need a replacement.I just hope NP has a plan because the team on Sat was nowhere near good enough.

Or could this be another 'he's great whilst he's here, but rubbish cos he's going' situation.... I really do despair. I bet his wages are used as a reason why 'he really shouldn't stay'... Or 'we should all trust Pearson' or 'Beckford won't fit into the system' Etc etc etc Hypocrites, form an orderly queue....
