Mark_w Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Beckford out. Agbonlahor in. You're not in Fifa anymore...
Bert Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 We didn't even pay £3m for Becks. So we won't be getting that.... Especially considering his wages.
Kitchandro Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 It's not so much letting go of Beckford that annoys me because he pissed me off something terrible at times last season - but who the fvck have we brought in? Now that just makes me sick.
Happy Fox Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 NP is in the wrong why sell a striker of Beckord's quality it very daft decision imo, give him this season and fair enough if he doesn't deliver than sell.

Now that just makes me sick. Two members of Manchester United's academy (One who their fans were likening to Scholes before he picked up injuries), a defender on a free who Premier League Norwich fans felt was their best CB, and expected to go to Villa. A striker who scored over 30 goals in the BSP and was attracting interest from our competition, and a target man to replace Howard who from what we've seen so far looks a lot more confident with the ball at his feet than Steve did. It's terrible, and all for £3,000,000 as well... We'd have never wasted money like that last year.
Rusko187 Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Bit gutted if this is happening, really do think Beckford can offer something to us but I guess I shouldn't complain as I've been happy with NPs dealings this summer. He has brought in the correct type of player and appears to understand the areas that need strengthening. Hope we have brought in someone decent but not holding my breath.
Matt Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 It has always seemed to be Beckford can be great - But it has to be on his terms and when he can be bothered to be great, but if he is told to do something (He can on occasions be stroppy and not do what is asked of him) also it seems he can be very lazy and not be bothered. Unfortunately I think you can can on one hand how many time he has been bothered and really added a spark to the team, on a whole he has been poor. I've always said it doesn't matter how good a player is or can be, Doesn't matter if they are the best player in the world, If they don't show it on a regular basis, consistently, can't be relied upon and don't want to be a club what's the point in having that player? It's another big ego and arugably disruptive player out of the club, which can only be a good thing really, at times last season I wondered how detrimental Matt Mills and Jermaine Beckford were to the team, sprit, morale, e.t.c.

alanf0x Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Michael Owen tweeted looking forward to starting training with his new team mates....
adamlcfcbevo85 Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Beckford will be playing in a lcfc shirt this season he has been I'll, will be starting on weds, Pearson thinks highly of our number 1 striker

Babylon Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Michael Owen tweeted looking forward to starting training with his new team mates.... It ain't gonna be us, he has said he will not drop a division.
Mark_w Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Which player did they liken to scholes? Drinky or James? Some fans on their forum likened James to him (Obviously not saying as good, but before his injuries they seemed to think he could be). The other academy player I was talking about was De Laet not Drinkwater.

Out Foxed Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 drinkwater needs to step up to the plate this season. far too wasteful in possession last season.

Leicfox Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Oh right. Was drinkwater a product of the united academy? Yes. Our team is full of Man Utd and Preston rejects.
Mark_w Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Oh right. Was drinkwater a product of the united academy? Yeah, but he wasn't signed in this window, so.
foxfanazer Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 drinkwater needs to step up to the plate this season. far too wasteful in possession last season. I think he'll come good this season. Got pushed out wide too much imo Yeah, but he wasn't signed in this window, so. Just asking mate........thanks for the info
Ric Flair Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Haha this forum is going to be unbearable this season. Pearson you utter prat, if this is true. You just know Beckford is going to score a horrible amount of goals this season for Leeds and rub our noses in it. Nigel knows he'll be gone by Xmas and as we ****ed him over the first time round as well, it's a stitch up job from him! Winky

jock2612 Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Just a thought. Toffee Fox has stated we may have a big addition on the way,it may be Michael Owen,he has tweeted he is training on his own at his new club, and all the current squad are following him on twitter ,this may also link in JB being told to find another club,as if it is Owen and he has agreed to join us we cannot afford or need both.
GREG LCFC Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 I have no idea how we could replace his 9 league goals. Mr negative
MGLCFC Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 If it's Owen then it has to be a pay per play deal. It will only cost us £100000 for his one performance before he's injured again.
