Emile Ivanhoe Heskey

Recommended Posts

Would Heskey enable someone to score 20+ maybe 25+ league goals?

Yes, everyone he's ever played with can't speak highly enough of him

If he doesn't start regularly could he be a great sub to allow us an outlet without losing possession if we're under pressure & holding on to a lead

Yes!

Is he on a free?

Yes

Are a host of premier league clubs chasing his signature presumably pushing his wages up?

Probably not!

Got to be worth a look.

i've been considering a reply to this all day.

do i think emile could do a job for us, yes he prehaps could.

however, i want to remember him as the young kid that monstered defences and prolonged tc and super steve's careers. so no i don't want him back even if he played for free. don't want to tarnish that memory.

oh and i'm reliably informed he's had good offers from the states, so maybe heading over there, thats not gospel but did come from his old man.

Those memories won't go. It seems pretty daft really, there's every chance he could help us a second time.

John Carew has looked a class above everytime I've seen him, I had mates who went to Upton Park that said he was an absolute monster too. I don't know what's going on there at West Ham but I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Oh yeah he is class, 7 full appearence`s and 1 league goal! as for being a monster, I went to the west ham leicester game and he was that much of a monster he was gonna get sent off, so got subbed b4 half-time! so if that is your idea of class I don`t value your opinion!

I do rate him very highly and he out shone Heskey at Villa, but we won't pay him £40000 a week and by the looks of things he can't afford a pay cut haha:

Nail his wages down and he'd be a cracking signing on pretty much all levels. Still second to none at his holdup play and I think he will score more with some company up front.

Plus remember what he did for us when we were in trouble? He is quite rightly so a legend here, would love him to come home.

http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Return-Leicester-City-possible-says-Emile-Heskey/story-16031325-detail/story.html

Speculation is mounting that Emile Heskey could make a return to Leicester City.

The England striker is resigned to leaving Aston Villa this summer after not being offered a new contract, and has not ruled out a move to his home-town club.

"There's a possibility that might happen, I'm not going to turn anything down," said Heskey. "But there are no contract talks with Villa so I will be looking elsewhere.

"I haven't got a club (lined up). My contract is up so I just take it day by day and see what crops up.

"But I want to carry on playing. I'm 34. I still feel I can play, so I don't see why I need to retire just now.

"I'm actually starting my coaching badges, so that is another avenue I'm going down now. But I'm going to have a little break and then see what offers there are."

While Heskey still wants to play at Premier League level, there is no doubt that a move to Leicester would be seriously considered.

Heskey admitted as much in the Mercury last November, when he said: "Hypothetically, I would love to come back, so never say never.

"Because I was born and raised in Leicester, and my family still live there, and it is the club where everything started for me, I can't say I will never go back.

"We will have to wait and see, but I can't rule it out."

Deja vu from last season. Didn't the Mercury print a similar sort of article this time last year as well lol

How good would Heskey be at the tip of a 4-3-3 with Nugent and An Other feeding off his headers and passes?

Another thing, I know we are not going to have that pacey, powerful beast running down the left we had last time he was here, but it doesn't put me off.

Even if he bombs if he comes back it won't tarnish what happened the first time for me. I was lucky enough to see his first game away at QPR and his first goal away at Norwich.

That won't change whatever happens this time.

It's amazing how many people on here seem to be on personal terms with his dad

I never said I was on personal terms, however he trains at the same gym as a local business owner I know and they had a chat yesterday was just saying he has had offers from the states, i believe a certain mr steve guppy is out there, so it may have something to do with that. It's just 1 of a few offers he has had put to him.

I used to go to the same barbours as our Emile in Liverpool (RazorsEdge on hardman st) they all loved him but said he was always trying to get his kids hair cut for free and wouldn't tip. Love it,he's a millionaire and it cost £4.50 a trim, and he'd wait for his 50p change.

It wasnt really a dig or anything, I was just quite surprised by how much info seems to have been leaked through his dad.

Id love to see him back here, but it really does seem like people are out for his head before he's even started. If he came here and put in 110% when he played i'd be happy with that. It seems like a lot of people on here are expecting him to come here and bag 20+ goals a season else he'll be a complete flop. If he puts the effort in then why not I say.

`If he doesn't have potential to score 20 + goals in a season he's a shit striker.' Clearly half the people on this board no bugger all about football, his hold up play is up there with the best and you dont loose that with age. Put him next to a capable goal scorer (Becks, Nuge or even waggy) and the goals will come. Even then because he's not the name on the score sheet people will call for his head =/

You assume..... maybe he was saving all his money to help us out of administration. Hardly the act of a tight ass

Well it's shows what you know lol thing is with NP and the Thais we won't know alot untill the deal is as good as done

In March 2012, Guppy reunited with his old boss Martin O'Neill at Sunderland to work as a part-time coach, giving extra specialised sessions on technical work to "Black Cats" young players

And that shows what you know

Maybe he has another part-time job in the states?
