ousefox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 ****ing ridiculous decision, hope they get relegated now. This better not happen if Pearson gets promoted.
Corky Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 It'll happen. We're all gearing up for a new challenge under NP and all of a sudden the coach of Greuther Furth is appointed.
Fox92 Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 didnt they sack Pearson after he kept them against the odds? Yeah, but they arn't the same owners are they? (unless you're just talking about the club itself, of course).
kingfox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Bit late, but what the fook are Southampton doing. They are 15th, not in the relegation zone, they were always going to be near the bottom, but 15th isn't a bad position to be in. Disgraceful decision, flaming good manager.
Yastafox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Shocking! Could partially understand if they had a fantastic manager to replace him with, but to sack him and replace him with a relative unknown is madness, especially as he had them in prime place to stay in the PL in comparison to the other teams around them!
stix Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 That is brand new information. He started a new thread which was moved into this one.
Yastafox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Got a feeling hell turn up at Newcastle once Ashley gets bored of Pardew...
Alf Bentley Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Got a feeling hell turn up at Newcastle once Ashley gets bored of Pardew... Pardew has signed an 8-year contract at Newcastle, hasn't he? So he'd get a hell of a big pay-off. Would be an expensive way of getting bored for Ashley, but he does seems a big enough idiot to do that....

Tielemans63 Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Disgraceful. Sack a guy who is clearly making progress and replace him with someone who has never managed or even played in England and who has a very average record with Espanyol. Like everyone else I hope the go down, I like them before but this is a disgraceful decision. Joke.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 If this was us doing this next season Id refuse to go any more. Shocking decision.
Super_horns Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 So you sack a popular manager on his best run in the Premiership after a slow start which would be natural and appoint somebody with limited management experience and cannot speak the lingo.. Is there ANY sense in all this? The players won't respect him, fans will probably protest all leading to a nasty negative atmosphere. I thought it was a shame Dyche went and Zola came in but with new owners I understood why and the latter certainly is proving to be a success on and off the pitch.

It is a massive gamble, because the spirit has seemed high at the club and Adkins always give a positive outlook, both in terms of style of play and interviews. It's going to be nigh on impossible for the new guy to do the latter, so results are the only thing that counts really. I can see this upsetting the squad and Southampton heading backwards.
Leicesterpool Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Feel sorry for Adkins a really nice guy, anyway just saying Nigel does suddenly leaves us then he'd be a great replacement. Also did anyone read the express today it claims that Lambert as got two games to save his job, Di Matteo is breathing down his neck for the job. So we could be seeing another sacking shortly.
Guest shearfox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Adkins has done a great job at Southampton and I hope the LMA have a word... This sacking is just wrong in everyway

Yes, we definitely need a "Who's next for Villa?" poll.

This sacking is just wrong in everyway As one of their members hasn't replaced him they might. Usually, if one of the old boys network takes over the LMA remain fairly quiet.
HitchinFox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 To be honest, I don't like Southampton at all and would be lovely to see them go down this season. The fans are an arrogant bunch of muppets who seriously think they are a top six club. The thought of them having a collective hizzy fit over this gives me great pleasure. Nuge hates that lot too, and they despise him, owing to his time at Pompey. And I like Nuge. Inimicus inimici mei amicus meus est - and all that... Having said that, I do feel for Nigel Adkins. Can't see what he has done wrong - two promotions and he even turned things round this season after a horrible start. He deservers a better club - hope somebody snaps him up soon. Villa?
Chryatis Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Absolutely disgraceful. I hope things go tits up for them now
FoxyPV Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 I didn't believe this when a guy in work said earlier. He was starting to turn the lie form around and had got them promoted twice in two years! Joke of a decision

Erm he's done an amazing job at Southampton, but I think he's not quite ready for the Villa job. Adkins despite his good work i think his next job will be in the championship.

MooseBreath Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Problem is I can see our bloody owners doing exactly the same if we ever got there next season when we are in a similar position say no and back our Nigel. I just hope our owners don't act as swiftly as Saints' and Forest's have done in recent weeks. Yep, same here. You just can't trust any of these bastards anymore, no one seems to have an ounce of class. If we were to go up I hope Pearson doesn't get treated the same way Foreign ownership for you. Looking at these posts you'd think Top had come out in support of Cortese or something. Apart from being foreign and therefore obviously knowing nothing about football, what exactly have our owners and Cortese got in common? I'm sure some people are desperate for Top and Co to mess up so that they can get the knives out and slash up some foreigners. Racist much?

I think the lack of trusting can just go for owners in general.
