Fox92 Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Something needs to be done about stuff like this now, it's getting ridiculous. A manager comes in when Southampton are in the third tier, gets them out of that league, finishes second in the second tier just a year later and makes them a Premier League club. One defeat in seven, including coming back from 2-0 down at Stamford Bridge and he gets sacked. Sometimes there seems to be no point in being a manager. Serve the owners right if they went and got relegated.
breadandcheese Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Sacking a manager and replacing him with only 13 days of the transfer window. Plenty of time to assess your players, earmark any replacements you deem necessary and plan for the future. Great decision.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Absolute disgrace, he'll get another job as he really has proved himself.
Fox92 Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Lampard to L.A. Told ya. MLS whoo hoo!!!! Will be a loss to the Premier League.
isaidno Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Absolutely shocking decision. They've just drew with Arsenal & Chelsea and are closing in on mid-table
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Is this the same Pochettino from the 2002 World Cup?
jimmer Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Wow, why rock the boat like this when they looked like they had turned a corner? madness
foxfanazer Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Disgraceful decision. No loyalty in football anymore. If we were to go up I hope Pearson doesn't get treated the same way
21st Century Fox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Ahahahahahahahahaha! Southampton: The New Blackburn.
pSinatra Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Is this the same Pochettino from the 2002 World Cup? the same Pochettino that 'brought down' Owen & Beckham scored the resulting penalty.
Babylon Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Ahahahahahahahahaha! Southampton: The New Blackburn. Blackburn were the new Leicester, Forest were the new Blackburn and Saints are the new Forest. Foreign ownership for you.
Jimothy Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Shocking decision, showing they have no class and no clue. And I hate the way clubs try and make out they made the decision like it had to be made as a no risk option. As if bringing in the new guy will ensure they stay up whilst keeping the old one would have risked going down. When in reality Adkins was the less risky option for Southampton. He built this team, got them promoted twice, and they play his style. They have no idea how this squad will react to the new manager, who has no experience of this country, or how much it will cost to build a team that does play well for him, and how long that will take. Huge risk for Southampton, and I wish they wouldn't try and make out it's anything else.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Bloody foreigners coming over here buying all our football clubs and sacking all our managers. I bet they've even shagged a few of our women too.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Unbelievable! He gets them up in successive seasons then gets the chop!
Babylon Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Bloody foreigners coming over here buying all our football clubs and sacking all our managers. I bet they've even shagged a few of our women too. Not with their tiny cocks.
Mack Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 A little while back I could have understood this descision. But he looked like he was making a good go of it lately. I would only assume they wanted this guy who has taken over so have sacked Adkins to make room.
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 What winds me up is people saying it won't seem such a bad decision if they get into Europe
surrifox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 didnt they sack Pearson after he kept them against the odds? crap decision and hope they live to regret it
ADK Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Its a strange one, its not like Southampton were bottom or something. The new manager has no English experience and his record at Espanyol dosn't seem that amazing. He's also inexperienced at management as a whole. It reminds me of Paulo Sousa but then Soasa had experience at Swansea in the same league where he had been reasonably successful. I can see this turning out to be a disaster for Southampton. Good news for Villa fans.
LanguedocFox Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 didnt they sack Pearson after he kept them against the odds? crap decision and hope they live to regret it Yes, they did - that's how NP came to us first time round, and got us promoted - when we exchanged places with Saints. Be great if history repeated itself this season. If they do go down, I hope that fvckwit Chairman gets bounced.
k3ith59 Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Just seen on SSN Adkins has been sacked. Anybody think that NP may be approached given his great work at city and that he was their Red Adair last time they needed help.
Corky Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 They lost six of their first seven games and stuck with him. Lost 2 out of 10 and decide to get rid.
purpleronnie Posted 18 January 2013 Posted 18 January 2013 Just seen on SSN Adkins has been sacked. Anybody think that NP may be approached given his great work at city and that he was their Red Adair last time they needed help. That is brand new information.
