Let's Have a Statement From The Thais About Pearson's Job Being Safe

It's quite surprising the number of people who don't want Redknapp. I'm one but I thought I'd be in a small minority.

The owners need to make their f**king minds up and put out a statement either back NP or sack him. Because this speculation is going to continue to rumble..

if we sack pearson i would be ashamed to support leicester, why would we do such a thing especially as we're looking good but even so why?

Give people something to moan about they will, we are 2nd in the league coming off a good performance and a 2-0 away win on a Tuesday night, and rightly or wrongly a lot of our fans seem to think Pearson has unearthed the next Lionel Messi. Unherd for Leicester in recent years.

If we lose to Bristol City on Saturday there will be plenty of short sighted numb skulls back to start Pearson out Redknapp in threads don't worry.

Mickey Walsh has urged Leicester to release a statement and show their continued support of manager Nigel Pearson.

The former legend manages the City boss and has responded to rumours that the club had a meeting with free-agent Harry Redknapp.

Walsh told Keys & Gray: “Whether it is true or not, it was a rumour, but it came from a good source which I believed. There had been a meeting - between Harry and Leicester - and I discussed it with Nigel.â€

All he [Nigel] can do is win football matches

— Mickey Walsh

Asked how Pearson was coping with the speculation, he said: “He wasn’t too pleased, obviously, if it was true but it’s different to substantiate these things when other people might deny it. You’ve got to be careful of accusing people of doing these things when you’re not 100% sure because you weren’t at that meeting.â€

The club have won six of their first nine games and are one point behind Cardiff, who sit at the top of the Championship table.

Walsh said: “Nigel will just get on and do his job and win football matches. The fans were chanting his name the other night. It’s an irritant more than anything.

"They’re doing fantastic and he’s one of the best managers around. The players aren’t distracted, they’ve played some good stuff. They look like they’re on the up.â€

Was the guy that wrote this a Blackpool fan by any chance?

arent we all getting paranoid over paper rumours.

the owners havent been in this country for the past 2-3 weeks, and now dowie is mentioned, come on for god sake the daily mail is a shite paper the same as the leicester mercury.ever thought this might be a ploy to get the fans behind the manager.

Not really NP's agent Micky Walsh has reaffirmed that we have held informal talks with Harry Redknapp and it is coming to the point in desperation where we don't know what the f**k is going to happen next because of the Thais incompetence in not releasing a statement about whether NP is the man for the job or not, the situation has gone out of hand to be quite frank.

Well releasing a statement into the press would only please 2 groups, the Fans and the Press

But the Thai's are high level business men, if they needed to let Nigel know his place was secure they would have 1000 ways of letting him know, but not others

People need to calm down and wait . . . .

I've been listening to SSN for over 2 and a half hours now. Got to turn it off otherwise I will go crazy listening to the same stories over and over.

Redknapp has just been on, but they didn't feature anything about us, they just showed him talking about Rio Ferdinand.

The fact that he has spoken to them though, probably does mean they did ask him at some stage about us, so I'll run with that.

Sky obviously consider it a complete non story, hence the fact they wont even show him answering that question again.

How is it incompetence ?? do you expect them to come out and public ally announce things every time something is reported??

NP is manager, and until that changes any paper (even agent) talk is just that..TALK.

Just because Harry says he hasn't spoken with them doesn't mean it's true. If nothing came of it I'd expect him to pretend it never happened out of respect.

In any case it sounds as if he's not interested.

You have almost 7000 posts, therefore you opinion is superior to mine, sorry I forgot about the hierachy on this forum.

My opinion is superior to yours because I'm using common sense and you're not.

Not the change of manager generally, but Redknapp in particular. I'd have thought he'd be a popular choice if Pearson was to go, but it doesn't seem that way, on here in any case.

I think that's down to the timing ..... 4 games ago I was pretty ready for a change and HR would be my first choice .... 4 games and 12 points later and the situation is very different and I'd absolutely back NP even over HR (who i think would be awesome).

What really concerns me about all this is that if it is true that the owners have spoken to Redknapp then Nigel could walk! And this would be the best outcome for them because they wouldn't have to pay him off and we as fans cant have a moan at them for sacking NP. Maybe this is what they're trying to engineer?

Slightly over the top when you consider there is no proof for any of this as of yet. :P

There is one thing the Thai's could do that would speak louder than any words, extend Pearson's contract (Newcastle style). Okay maybe not for 8 years, but a 1 or 2 year extension for him and his staff would quickly nip all of this in the bud.

I'd have no concerns about the club extending Pearson's contract providing he continues to approach his job as he is doing at the moment.

Pearson showed some good qualities even when his teams and his tactics were too negative and naive for my liking.

Thankfully he seems to have become a more positive, more attacking manager now, and, that being the case, I've every faith in the guy and more especially if he keeps on learning.

And yes i did express this view on different occasions earlier in the season and before we started our winning streak. In fact I've thoroughly enjoyed the first team football we've played throughout this season, even if the results haven't always been what I wanted or what we necessarily deserved.

Hopefully Harry will go to QPR if their bad start continues and we can put this to bed. Redknapp always takes out more than he puts in to a football club. He is not the cheeky chappy persona that he likes to portray and if anyone think Pearson has his favourites, then Harry takes it to a whole new level.

I remember asking Kyle Naughton about Redknapp when he was here on loan. He naturally didn't say very much as he's a Tottenham player, but did say that Harry has his favourites and if you're one of them, he'll talk to you and treat you well. if you're not, he won't even say hello to you.

I'm glad we have Pearson, have always thought him the right man for the job. When you look back at the money wasted by Sven on the team (players like Mills who as not received rave reviews at Bolton) then you can see the size of the rebuilding job. We're only a short way through the season, and we can just as easily slip down the league with a bad result here or there (the league is ridiculously tight and inconsistent this year). However, it is encouraging that in the three league games we've lost this year to Charlton, Blackburn and Wolves, we were arguably the better team. So we're really only one or two individual errors away from a good side in this league.

When we had the bad run the Thais were lining up Redknapp to come in.

Then Pearson won four games on the bounce, how can you sack a bloke after that?

They have now put themselves in a bad situation, and what they need to do is be honest with Nigel, explain their thinking and if they are open I'm sure he will be understanding (ahahaha).

On a personal level I believe that despite the good run of form lately it will only take one dodgy result to see him gone sadly.

I really hope we can all show our support for Nigel on Saturday.

As I see this, the owners want the highest profile they can get for the club for financial reasons, NP lets himself down by not being a media man, being on the Radio and TV as much as possible where the KING POWERS name keeps coming up, for example, we very rarely get a mention on Talk Sport, and minor reports in the national press, ask yourself why, even when we have climbed to the top of the Championship, NP must keep LCFC in the football news and on peoples lips all the time and not just here in Leicester.

You might need to listen to it again, he didn't reaffirm at all, he said a source had told him that a meeting had took place, he said he didn't know if it had or hadn't just that his source is normally reliable.

His primary role is to win games, it's up to the marketing people to make the most of that, if they really wanted an attention seeking manager why did they employ Pearson it's not as if they didn't know what he was like.

I think Knocky's 2 goals last night brought us exactly the type of press coverage they need.

It matter's not what Pearson is like the media are simply not interested in Championship football anyway, the only interest they take is in those that have just been relegated or if they have some motormouth in charge, admittedly this puts Blackpool at the front of the Championship publicity queue but I'll settle for Pearson rather than Holloway's verbal diarrhea.

They knew all this before they appointed him last year
