Back to the point. If you've read David Kelly's autobiography Shearer was reported, by good standing authority....Kelly himself, to have told an FA panel that, should he recieve punishment for booting Lennon in the face, he'd simply refuse to lead England out as captain at the next major tournament. I believe that'd have been the world cup in '98. That is the measure of the man. To avoid being found guilty for a crime he committed he'd refuse to be captain of his own ****ing country.

Shearer and all and everyone of his offspring are wrong 'uns. **** him and everyone who looks like him god willing.

Am I the only one who agreed with Shearer when he said Cole should receive a ban? I think he's right. Huge Fines to these guys are pointless. They matter not.

I can't stand Shearer as it appens, but I agreed with him over this.

He can't pass

He can't cross

He can't shoot

His positional sense is poor

His first touch is poor

He can only use his left

He can't take penalties or free kicks

If being quick is all you need to be one of the best left backs in the world then that whole position needs rethinking.

Whilst I don't agree with kitch completely, Cole is past his best and Baines has improved massively of late. So far this season (which is what England teams should be based on), Baines has been head and shoulders above him. Anyone who disputes that hasn't watched enough premier league games.

Thought this at the time. Shearer's an absolute hypocritical willy puller and whilst I think he actually had a point about Cole, he's a total utter hypocrite, I actually couldn't believe he said it when so many know he did if anything, something a lot worse than Cole.

Despise both in truth. Cole's a cvnt but glad he's picked up on this.

Yep. Cole was shit as he and Chelsea defended their way past Barcelona (y'know Messi, Sanchez, Iniesta etc. Messi was mainly Cole's man and they kept a clean sheet at home) and Bayern Munich (Cole was marking Robben), two of the best teams and a lot of the best players in world football to win the best footballing competition in the club game.

Thank the fúcking lord it's not up to you.

Nice one, what great achievements they were for the English national team.

Mind you Cole & Terry were world class IMO. They're England's only two players who I'd consider world class, 100% NOT Rooney, cannot believe people claim he's England's only world class player.

Spot on this. I'd have personally kept the morals and kept his ban. The fact they gave in was absolutely hilarious and boils my blood now - and I wasn't even at the game. That's got to be the worst thing the FA have done.

Cole's lived off his Arsenal days for the past few years. He's never been up to much at European and world level. I mean he can't pass the ball for christ's sake. If it was up to me he'd have been out of the England team ages ago.

Baines has been out-performing him for at least a couple of seasons.

Please please please tell me a left back that has been consistently performing at the highest level that is better than Cole in the past 5 years???

This happened only feet in front of me. I couldn't believe he didn't see red. He looked at the ball spun round and booted Lennon in the head. The fact that after the fa hearing they found him not guilty after watching the video shows them up for how bent and weak they really are. Anyone remember how much of a twat he made himself look when enfield (I think) took newcastle to a replay which they eventually struggled to a 1 0 win, after plenty of winding up from the non leaguers. In the after match interview he angrily raged 'we hammered them'. Shearer you twat.

Rio should be banned for a long time-the essence of his insult "choc ice" was about Cole's race. In my eyes, that's way above calling someone "black ****", where the race element is purely an adjective.

Not that Cole is generally to be applauded, but relative to Terry and the Ferdinands he's a better footballer and a much better man. Faint praise indeed...

Where does the Cole 'can't take pens' come from? I know he missed for England but sure he scored in the CL final. And his pen for Arsenal in the 2005 FA Cup final was amongst the best pens you will see.

I think the point being made is he's not a specialist penalty taker type left full back like a Baines/Pearce/Grosso/Harte sort of ilk. Granted it wasn't made very well.

Well I rate Cole highly and think he is a great left back. However, fines are pointless to multi-millionaires so perhaps a ban would have been suitable. Anyway the FA are ****in bunch of scumbags with a lack of consistancy so nothing shocks me anymore with them.

As for Shearer hes a ****....

They did fine Rio as well for the 'choc ice' tweet but I have to agree with you the Rio is a cock for even saying anything.

Looks like Cole has received the same sort of treatment though as he's only been fined but is available for selection on Friday.

Shearer blackmailed the FA back in the day and got away with it.

That's no excuse for Cole to try the same tactic now.

The FA should suspend him for a couple of games. If he throws toys out of the pram and follows his pal Terry into international retirement so be it. Leighton Baines is a better left back these days anyway.

No not having that . If a mouth piece like Shearer thinks just because it was back in the day that it doesn't count then he is wrong. If it was wrong then it's wrong now, time has nothing to do with it. Why should Cole be treated any different to Shearer ? Shearer was always an arse licker and Mr goody two shoes. But we who were there to witness that kick in the head against Lennon know different . :mad: :mad: :mad:

That's not the point Col the issue is who the hell is Shearer to shoot his mouth off about current players when he did worse by actually kicking a fellow pro in the face in front of a football crowd and cameras . Cole said something silly on the internet big deal compared to what he did. The irony is despite everyone seeing what shearer did and on camera he never got a ban that he so deserved, but now feels qualified to sit in judgement on others , what a fvcking hypocritical cvnt he is.

Fair enough.

Big fan of both Baines and Cole as players, just think Cole has the edge. Shame Baines isn't right footed.

Think Cole actually has a point in this instance too. The fact that he is a collosal douche hasn't helped him, plus the way he made his point probably wasn't the most tactful.

Cole is a better lb than baines however i do rare baines but cole is and has been world class for a while. For me watching players play for england has nothing to do with a players off field antics if it did we wouldn't have a team. Rooney, terry, lampard, cole etc have all had questionable morals of the pitch.

And to behonest this tweet row starts with the FA thinking they are a higher power than a court of law. FFS.
