Saw this thread - expected another rumored headbutt! Nice for both to get some recognition for the great last month they've had!

Who could argue vehemently? Pearsion's results speak for themselves and Morgan seems to have improved certain aspects of his game lately and produced some outstanding leadership. Congratulations to both and long may it continue.

Surely if it were a headbutt it would have been a case of the irresistible force against the immovable object? :P

City manager Nigel Pearson and captain Wes Morgan are both in the running for monthly awards with Football League sponsors npower.

After four wins in five games for the Foxes during September, Nigel is in contention to be named npower Championship Manager of the Month, while skipper Wes is in line for the npower Championship Player of the Month honour.

The double nomination comes after an outstanding start to the season for City, who went into the international break second in the table after 10 games, just a point behind leaders Cardiff City.

And Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is among Pearson’s rivals for the managerial award, having steered the Welsh outfit to four wins and a draw during the month. Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman completes the three-man shortlist, having matched that sequence of results to establish the Eagles among the early-season pace-setters.

In the players’ category, Morgan – a pillar of consistency in the Foxes defence – finds himself up against Palace’s Glenn Murray and Brighton’s Bruno Saltor.

Murray plundered six goals during September during Palace’s impressive run, while Saltor’s attacking bursts from full-back were a key part in the Seagulls’ maximum points haul.

The winners will be announced on Friday 12 October.

The Manager of the Month award is decided by former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Sponsorship Manager Emma Collins. The Player of the Month panel sees Emma Collins joined by Wolves legend Don Goodman, BBC Sport’s Mark Clemmit and The Football League’s Head of Communications, John Nagle.

NP has to get it manager surely .... who else can compete with this run especially from the backdrop of pressure surrounding his role and a less than amazing start......

And big Wes should get player for those step overs alone!!!!

Of course I want Nigel to be recognised for his good work, but that thing comes with a curse! I remember when he got it once last time, we then went to Hillsborough and put in a rubbish performance and lost.

When Pearson won it before when in charge of us, no curse struck us that time, think he won the next game after he won it.

Nice to see Morgan in the running, been an absolute rock this season, has probably one had one off game, excellent signing and an excellent captain.

That was a bloody dreadful performance!

Remember Rob Kelly got it once and we then lost at Norwich straight afer.

Anyone else think this was going to be a thread about a rumoured bust up?

Fair play to both, Morgan has been consistent and nice to see defenders get recognised because it's usually who has scored the most goals that month.

Freedman and Murray for me but obviously I'd like our pair to win it, curse or no curse. But preferable no curse.

You've got it spot on, both have won
