foxfanazer Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Still konchesky as first choice for me but Schlupp is more than able cover
marko Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Konchesky. Whilst Schlupp has done a good job at left back, I think Konchesky's experience will be valuable against better opposition.
kingfox Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Konchesky; however if I was Konchesky I would be very scared. Schlupp has been quality, can see a bit of Ashley Cole in him. Arsenal will be sniffing soon.
broughtonblue Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Good but difficult question. Konch for me but only cos of his experience, schlup has done nothing wrong but konch has been there and done it before
5waller5 Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 I rate Konch very highly ...... But i LOVE the thought of Schlupp and Lloyd terrorising oppositions with their pace .... they would frighten teams before the game starts - it gives us a psychological advantage and gets them worrying about a threat before a ball is kicked. Schlupp.
Walker Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Don't see any reason why Schlupp should be dropped right now. Almost feel like Konch has become slightly complacent this season. Either way, what a brilliant selection headache for NP

Libertine Dream Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 At the moment Id carry on with Schlupp, no need to change it
Carl the Llama Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Schlupp's been incredible so far and clearly has the added danger of pace, but Konch has more solidity, more goals in him, and the extra experience which is invaluable in a team pushing for promotion. Can see Schlupp maturing into a key player if he can keep this up.
cc_star Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Schlupp. Everyday of the week & twice on matchdays... Doesn't take much to skin Konch for pace these days & he often struggles to get back too. Schlupp is doing the biz at the back but is a much better attacking threat in a similar fashion to how Naughton was
Harry - LCFC Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I wouldn't put Konchesky straight back in, perhaps if Schlupp struggles a bit then I'd change things. But I don't see why Schlupp should have any difficulties, looks very comfortable there atm.
Happy Fox Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I was genuinely worried that Konchesky wouldn't have any decent competition for his LB slot but my fears have been alleviated by Schlupp's performances long may they continue.
Aus Fox Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 And to think people were screaming Nige needs a new left back only weeks a go. I think we need to look at the opposition anyone in the bottom half that has any weekness out wide or a quick winger play schluup against players like whittingham who have bags of experience it must be Konchesky.
Alf Bentley Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I think we can all anticipate NP's response: if the team is playing well and getting good results, don't change it. That probably means that Jeffrey keeps his place until the team loses, plays badly and he is part of the problem. Early days yet, as he's only had a couple of competitive starts and a couple of sub appearances at LB. On evidence so far, Schlupp is probably beaten or out of position maybe once/twice per game where Konch would not be (and will almost certainly improve at his age).Set against that the fact that Schlupp is more comfortable in possession, much more of a threat going forward and probably slightly better at passing. We have a team with enough ability that we should be trying to dominate games. So....Schlupp for me, until there's evidence to the contrary. Main bit of good news, though....we have 2 good left-backs at Championship level.
MPH Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 If ever Pearson needed/ wanted a reason to get another big wage earner off his books... then he has just been given it.... Could Schlupp be a permanent LB? not so sure... but i dont see that we are as reliant on Konch as much as we used to be...
Captain... Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Didn't see game today, on holiday in Porto, but from what I've seen of Schlupp at left back he looks really good there, and contributes a lot going forward. For all Konch's experience and great fitness he has had a number of poor games already this season, would much rather see Schlupp in the team, even at left back.
sdb Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Schlupp has been perfect but will benefit from observing Konch over the course of the season. Long term - Schlupp may just be the answer. For now, Konch is...just, the safer option.
Leicester_Numan Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Nigel really has to be true to his word. He challenges players to take their chance when they get it and Schlupp has done that so he has to keep him in, at least until he has a bit of an off day
savillefoxes Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 With schulpp playing so well could thid be the chance Pearson has to get rid of another Sven man ?
rico Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 why would he get rid of him when we have no cover in that department, its not as if Konch has fell out with NP
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 So we know if JS wants to become a left back? I know NP says he's always willing to play wherever, but just wondered if long term he would consider the change. It might also impact on him internationally.
Guest Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 With schulpp playing so well could thid be the chance Pearson has to get rid of another Sven man ? Can't see him getting rid of a player just because he's a 'Sven man'. Particularly one who's been pretty consistent in his time here. As others have said, Schlupp has taken his chance and if he's happy to continue playing there and maintains this form, then Konch shouldn't by default walk back in. Oh, and I love the pace down our left hand flank at the moment
