Guest shearfox Posted 17 August 2013 Posted 17 August 2013 Obviously Rooney hasn't read the article from Savage on Bbc on how to force a transfer... Got two good assists today... not bad considering he is lacking match practice.

Guest shearfox Posted 17 August 2013 Posted 17 August 2013 He looked really excited after the goal. so lonely. Didn't notice that, maybe he was reading certainly very much unlike Rooney to not get involved with the celebration.
Super_horns Posted 17 August 2013 Posted 17 August 2013 I think he had just taken a knock or maybe it says something about what the others think of him.
ScouseFox Posted 17 August 2013 Posted 17 August 2013 Luke Shaw, albeit from highlights only, looked boss today. Only 18. IF he keeps anything like that level of performance up consistently that's left back for England sorted for about 15 years easy.

Southampton have a few good youngsters - Ward-Prowse looks decent too. By all accounts Barkley had a brilliant game for Everton. All good news especially as England are crying out for some fresh blood.
Fox92 Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Southampton's academy is good, when you consider they've produced Lallana, Walcott, Chamberlain and Bale in recent years, as well as Ward-Prowse (I believe he is a Portsmouth fan!) and now Luke Shaw as mentioned. Two penalties against Arsenal on the opening day How unlucky can you get! And a word on Rooney, still class. Comes on for about 30minutes, puts himself about and still gets two assists.

The one to Van Persie was just a harmless pass to feet and it didn't even look like a goal scoring chance, what a goal that was!

The one to Welback was brilliant he lost his man and slide the ball through. Welbeck had work to do but it was put in the perfect place to where Welbeck was placed. Plus to take away the assist for Van Persie goal is silly, his running allowed Van Persie the space to turn and score. It was very intelligent play by Rooney in both cases, I suppose you are just one of those who can only watch the ball rather than the movement off it.

And also, for RVP's second goal, Rooney took one of Swansea's defenders away.
Leicesterpool Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Great win for Villa yesterday, but for me Villa aren't getting enough credit. They not saying beaten by a good Villa side, they saying Arsenal were poor and that's it.

It hasn't come as a surprise just how good villa looked, they could have easily got rid of Lambert last season but they have stuck by him, Benteke signed a new contract and they have gone away to Arsenal and won. Shows sacking the manager never really works out.

Buy some players then you won't have to worry about injuries and tiredness...

Was a great win but I think people might be saying that because Villa scored from two penalties and didn't Arsenal hit the bar once or twice?
Guest ttfn Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Shows sacking the manager never really works out. No it doesn't.
Tom17LCFC Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Hull haven't got any fans in the top tier by the looks of it. Shocking support for the opening day of the prem.
marko Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 I don't like the man one bit, but that was an excellent free kick by Lampard.
whoareyaaa Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Great free kick from Lampard, Hull getting mauled by Chelsea.
MC Prussian Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 What a curling and smashing effort by Lampard! Well done, great move by Chelsea to keep him on the books.
RowlattsFox Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Keeper made a mess of that. Good strike but should never have gone in.
