Corky Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 The three main contenders all start very strongly then. Missed last nights game but I can honestly see Newcastle going down. The club is an absolute mess, Mike Ashley's one of the worst owners in the country for me. Hull City may be in luck with Newcastle - is history going to repeat itself? No, Hull and Palace will be 19th and 20th respectively.
Simmo86 Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Spurs signing Willian for 30 million and looking into a deal for Erik Lamela. Feeling a bit flush??

z-layrex Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 The FA shouldn't be able to control what people say. It's supposed to be a free country.

Corky Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 The FA shouldn't be able to control what people say. It's supposed to be a free country. I suppose so. He did come out with the small club nonsense he spent all year banging on about at Blackpool though, which loses sympathy with me.
purpleronnie Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 The FA shouldn't be able to control what people say. It's supposed to be a free country. Agreed, amazing to think they do, is it the same in other countries?, because when I was in the states the stuff the coaches of the NFL teams came out with would get lifetime bans over here.
Tielemans63 Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Carragher's voice is going to annoy the hell out of me this season. What he's saying is all true, but I'm already getting sick and tired of his squealy voice. See what you're saying but I really like his punditry. He comes across as really passionate and knowledgable about football. I also like the fact that he assumes the audience know a bit about footy which most pundits fail to do. I'd like him a lot more if he wasn't a scouser though - granted!
Guest Bilo Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 I can see all three promoted clubs coming straight back down, though Newcastle, Stoke and Sunderland may run them close. Not a good season to be stripey.
Jaspa Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Tbh I think Cardiff could be safe and even Hull but i think Palace looked like a Championship side on Sunday, a good one though. Still alot to happen yet, wouldnt be putting money down tbf
Finnegan Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Cardiff have spent reasonably well. If Malky Mackay gets his shit together they've the best chance of staying up. Lawro claiming they'll drop and Hull will be fine is just absurd. Hull and Palace to come back with a thud for me.
Fox92 Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 I do think Hull will stay up because Bruce has been there before with Birmingham and Wigan. Although, and as I said to my Hull-supporting mate yesterday, I can't see where the Hull goals are going to come from.

Matt Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 ARSENE WENGER yesterday hit back at everybody questioning his move for Yohan Cabaye, adamant that 16 years of success meant he should not have to explain himself. Erm...16 years? Success? Really? Are the last 8 years included in those 16 years? He's losing it, some may argue he lost it years ago.

Yeah I'd say so. Considering budget I'd think finishing 4th on the trot for 8 years is successful. You can't tell me people would see it as more successful this season if they finished 20th but won a League Cup. He does need to be more proactive in the market though now he has some cash, no doubt about that.

He has the money he just doesn't buy in the required players, no trophy for eight years is not good at a club like Arsenal.

Brooksy Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 1-1 at Chelsea. No prizes for guessing Villa's goalscorer.
Fox92 Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 He has the money he just doesn't buy in the required players, no trophy for eight years is not good at a club like Arsenal. Unlike others though, he won't give in to the demands of players. Fellaini wanted 100k a week apparently, which Arsenal didn't want to match. Fair play, it's good to see as a neutral as clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City throw money all over the place. But 8 years without a trophy isn't good enough for a club the size of Arsenal. The had a good chance of winning the league cup when they made the final but lost to Birmingham, and last year as well but lost to Bradford. I'd like to see them win something, though.
Super_horns Posted 21 August 2013 Posted 21 August 2013 Villa doing alright so far Just been hard done by - Ivanovic could have got sent off and then went and nicked a goal minutes later.
