Rivals signings

Recommended Posts

Doncaster set to sign Shay Given & Stephen Ireland, according to reports.

Stephen Ireland has been a waste of space for a few seasons now but that would be an incredible signing for them. Sadly a fair few teams are making good signings, we've just got to grin and bare it. We had our chance and it didn't pay off so let's just get our heads down and pray.

At this level Ireland should be quality, what a coup!!

In my opinion we have a good side already. If we can add some consistancy that we didn't have last year we'll be fine.

We're still lacking a bit of talent but it's not a bad squad. It's more the manager and coaching staff I have reservations with, they aren't exactly proven to improve players.

I was about to call bullshit on your post but according to this:

You are spot on - deary me!

Not one to normally comment on this sort of thread, but I can't believe Jay Bothroyd has been released by QPR. He'll do a job for someone in the Championship

If he could regain his Cardiff form he'd be a great signing. Wouldn't mind him here at all.

I thought the club owner, Ipswich's, 'wiped off' all Chopra's loans/bills (those that were to do with the aspects of gambling) that he had to pay back?

Not 100% sure on this, but I swear I read this somewhere.

I doubt he'll get paid tonnes at Blackpool, probably £10-15k at the most.

Very much doubt he'll be getting £10/15k at Blackpool. Ipswich have paid him off for the next year so Oyston probably offered him 6k tops.

Another big plus for Chopra is there's a casino right next door to the club hotel next to the ground, so he'll be sweating like a blind lesbo in a fish market.

All Redknapp did at Spurs was build on the good work Martin Jol did before he was shamefully undermined and gotten rid of after the whole Darren Bent / Damian Comolli / Juande Ramos issues that clearly affected the team.

He was the chap that turned Spurs round for me, not Redknapp - even considering that he took over after Ramos' garbage tenure.

If he got his form back from when he was at Cardiff, he could be an essential part of any team at this level. On the other hand, he went out to Sheffield Wednesday on loan last season and was very very poor, in which he was booed off the pitch a few times.
