davieG Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Meanwhile, anticipation for the new campaign, which kicks off a week after the Monaco fixture with an away trip to Middlesbrough, has led to increased season-ticket sales. City have so far sold 14,074 season tickets, 294 ahead of their total for this time last year. The vast majority of the sales were supporters renewing through the Early Bird scheme, which offered a freeze on prices from last season in nearly all areas of the ground. The sales indicate City fans expect their team to be challenging for promotion again this season. indierich06 Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 So much for flowwolf's claim that boring old Pearson would drive away all of our ST holders this year.
jonthefox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Not too bad. I wonder what that's like in comparison to other teams in this division?.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I think that is good solid support once more from City fans
ozleicester Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Yet more proof that we are all closet masochists.. well done those people
MC Prussian Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Surely it must be down to the massively unattractive and mediocre hoofball we've been playing under Pearson as well as the bleak financial outlook. I can't think of any other reason why the numbers are that high.
Burbage Fox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Good Effort!! My sons first season ticket being one of the reasons for increase in numbers
ousefox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I'm shocked it's increased after last years changes. I wonder how much difference increasing the age of free tickets to U10s has had.
Monk Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 How many did we sell in total last season? Seems to be a decent turn out.
ealingfox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 But I thought nobody would renew because of Pearson? I thought we were well placed to be relegated next season?
Dan Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 As am I. I have literally no idea how we've managed to increase those numbers
Bert Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Great news, hopefully we can push through the 15k barrier.
Loggy88 Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 That's pretty good I think considering its still June. After what happened last season thought be a few not renewing or maybe having a good wait and think before renewing. Good support!
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Good response. On the whole though our support is good anyway, amazing how pricks complain about 23,000 and seem to forget some of the dog shit turnouts we had a Filbert Street. Most clubs would kill for out level of support home and away. Plus the Championship is a wildly competitive league, so why wouldn't you want to watch it?
suffolk fox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 But I thought nobody would renew because of Pearson? I thought we were well placed to be relegated next season? Am optimistic for the new season support Leicester not the manager do have to dramatically improve our end of season form though three wins in seventeen games is shocking which everyone seems to forget?
ealingfox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Am optimistic for the new season support Leicester not the manager do have to dramatically improve our end of season form though three wins in seventeen games is shocking which everyone seems to forget? Just as everyone seems to forget being in and around the top two for 2/3rds of the season with the third youngest squad in the Football League.
Guest Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Am optimistic for the new season support Leicester not the manager do have to dramatically improve our end of season form though three wins in seventeen games is shocking which everyone seems to forget? Just because people don't harp on about it in EVERY post doesn't mean they've forgotten. Or perhaps they remember further back than those that only seem to remember that poor run?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I wouldn't expect anything less from our fans given how good our overall season actually was
Corky Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Right, we have a sound base of season ticket holders. Now we need to get the ground as full as possible. Flexible ticket pricing is required.
GingerrrFox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Right, we have a sound base of season ticket holders. Now we need to get the ground as full as possible. Flexible ticket pricing is required. **** That. If people will only go to a game when it's £15 a ticket plus a pie then I'd rather not.
Guest MattP Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 **** That. If people will only go to a game when it's £15 a ticket plus a pie then I'd rather not. People won't pay £30 to watch Yeovil at home though. Find a balance that's fair, personally I think £15-20 is about right.
