Father Ted Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 We could be a game away from European qualifiers? Actually I don't know. UEFA Europa LeagueThere are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; and the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage. In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. English winners of the UEFA Europa League will enter at the Group Stage, gaining an extra domestic place only if they fail to qualify through other means for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League. If the holders of the UEFA Europa League have already qualified for Europe, no extra domestic place will be gained. Should the FA Cup winners, runners-up (if applicable) and the Football League Cup winners already have qualified for Europe, their place goes to the next best placed clubs in the Premier League. Fair Play winners enter at the Qualifying round 1 stage. This place will automatically go the three best-placed national associations in the UEFA Respect fair play rankings provided they achieve an average of 8.0 points or more. The top three associations will then be entitled to enter the club that has either won their domestic top-division fair play competition, or if they are already qualified, the runners-up and so forth. Please note that the above is purely a guide to the qualification procedure at present. From time to time other scenarios may occur which could mean that the above procedures may need to be reviewed. - See more at: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/fans/faqs/who-qualifies-to-play-in-europe/#sthash.lFh7G0n2.dpuf
Jace Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Promotion and another league cup win will be fine with me this season
Maybes Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 We could be a game away from European qualifiers? Actually I don't know. Nope only the winners of the league cup qualify, then it would go to the league placings if they were already in or in the CL.
EnglishOxide Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Are people forgetting we held them to 2-2 a couple of years ago? They lost to Wigan in May, have lost to Cardiff and Villa this season. Of course we might lose, but we might also ****ing win. Show some faith and support your team. The players are gonna need it. Bradford were in the final last season ffs. Anything can happen. Sandwiched between Burnley and QPR? So what? ****ing bring it.
Swarles Barkley Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Stayed up to watch the FLS for them to show a poxy 2mins of the game. What a fvcking disgrace. The only game that had an upset with a 88th min equaliser then a 90th min winner and what they show, extended highlighs of a fvcking 0-0 before et between man city and newcastle. Absolutely fuming. Forget its "the big guns" before us minnows
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Agreed about Football League Show, that was pathetic. The Man U result was predictable and boring, and the Man City game was painfully dull. Our game and the Birmingham game were breathless epics. Both involved championship sides having a go at prem opposition, with loads of goals and a lot of entertainment. Made me laugh when he said "So it was down to Stoke's 4th penalty taker..." when we hadn't even seen a single Stoke penalty. Do they just go straight into the 4th one now or what? Embarrassing.
ScouseFox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 More people are interested in Manchester United than Leicester City, irrespective of the scores.
TJB-fox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 The more money we get from cups etc the more likely kasper wes and nuge are to sign new deals because we'll have extra funds..

Tom17LCFC Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 We'll do 'em. Can already see how arrogant their fans are. Will be a quality atmosphere regardless!!
ozleicester Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Remember the last game against Mancity at the KP, great atmosphere, terrific game and result, some great football played by both sides...and SOL SOL BAMBA!! We can do this .. COYB!!! (now please put it on TV)

We can do this .. COYB!!! (now please put it on TV) Doubt they will, seeing as we're on Sky against Burnley and QPR. There's the London Derby they'll broadcast anyway.
lestajigs Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Pissed off its a joke that us in L1 will lose our seats.. Big game like this and I'll be moved miles from where I should be Miles??? What about k or j blocks??
absolutelegend Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 DATES???? ties to be played w/c 16th Dec I don't see why we will play a different team to the one that beat fulham. QPR and Burnley will def be the priority, so they will have our 1st choice, but I'd expect the likes of Wood, James, Miguel etc. to come in for the City game again. 3 big games in a week is too much for everyone. However, great draw, there will be a great atmosphere, and I reckon we can give them a good game. We also get to see some of their world class stars + Joe Hart.
woddyuk Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Not a "glamour" draw but very WINNABLE This, like the Fulham game is a barometer, of what to expect if we get promotion. We won but still let in 3 goals against a very ordinary Fulham side. I'd rather we didn't get dicked 5-nil at home by ManCity on a cold wet December evening in front of the national and international press cause decides the league is more important. Aside the extra £££ from going further in the competition from TV,gates,Advertisings etc to help with FFP, We are TWO games from Wembley and THREE games from the Europa League. What would that be worth. ?? Didn't do Swansea any harm . Lets not have another "Huddersfield Away" moment where it all turns to shit. Remember guys singing "You're just a shit ManUtd" & " You're just a small town near Stockport" works wonders
Bryn Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Was really hoping we would get a game in Manchester away so I could go but this is winnable and either way should be a great event. Bring it on.
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Would be great to see the club reward those who went to the Fulham game with a £15 ticket for this, can't see it though.Should be a good night, really hope they don't the piss on price. We have more than a chance tonight, Man City are a very different side without the spine of Kompany, Toure, Silva, Aguero etc. Newcastle were the better team over the first 90 mins tonight.

Thracian Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Thrilling fixture. We've already ruffled their feathers in the cup and we've clearly got the ammunition to give it a real go and perhaps do the same as we did to Tottenham when DeVries momentarily became a man posessed. Life is all about living your dreams and in football terms there could surely be few better dreams than dumping the comparative superstars of Manchester City on the way to lifting the trophy. A full house, deafening support, some fast and threatening players of our own - what's not to look forward to? As for the other important games at the time ... we can just take one at a time and give our all to each. Happy days!
p_kam Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Come you Blue army we will smash Man City and get to the final!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
