davieG Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 FOXES LEAD THE HUNT Posted: Fri 22 Nov 2013 Author: Steve Pearce Leicester the best team in the Championship says boss Mick McCarthy says Town are facing the best team in the Championship when Leicester visit Portman Road on Saturday. The Foxes have had their most impressive start to a campaign in their history with 10 wins from their first 15 games and sit second in the league behind Burnley. “For me, they are the best team in the division,†the Town boss told Ipswich Player. “I know that is praise indeed when you see Burnley are top and you look at the players QPR and Wigan have got. “I have watched them a few times this season though and they look like a team who are progressing and getting better. “They went to Watford recently and bashed them [3-0] and we know what a good team Watford are. They are solid, have a very good goalkeeper in Kasper Schmeichel and they have plenty of firepower. “In Andy King and Danny Drinkwater they also have arguably the best central midfield pairing in the Championship.†Read more at http://www.itfc.co.uk/news/article/leicester-the-best-1190350.aspx#fvQPUiuFjhVGhrS0.99
Basingstoke Fox Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Remember similar words from Warnock before we lost away to Leeds last year.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Cheers MM defeat looms now then. Bloody Psychological mind games
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Mind games. At least nige won't let it affect our players.
muzzy1981 Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Mind games, can't imagine it would affect many players but only needs to effect one. Qpr are easily the best
The Horse's Mouth Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 McCarthy playing mind games, everyone trying to be a Mourinho now adays!
Bayfox Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 At least someone loves kingy. heskey anyone???
sylofox Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 It's all in his mind. We now have to prove him right. If we can't are we as good as we think we are. Mind games it maybe. But if we can't win them in november we won't win then in march april and may. Like it or not we are the big boys at the top. (fan base wise and recent history bar qpr one season)
Jordan Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 This kind of stuff only works in Football Manager.
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 I think he's wrong but I don't think it's mind-games cos McCarthy seems to say it how he sees it. QPR, IMO are the best squad in the division. However, on our day, I think we can beat any Championship side.
lgfualol Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 It's going to look impressive when they beat us cus Nugent missed 20 sitters.
Fox92 Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Nice bit of mind games, McCarthy knows what he's doing whether he means it or not. Nice to hear, but I hope it doesn't backfire on us.
StanSP Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 Think McCarthy knows fully well what he is doing and it's commonplace in the football world these days. Just means that IF they beat us, he can say to his players that they beat the best team in the league and make them feel even better about themselves.
MPH Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 McCarthy knows what he's doing whether he means it or not. Errrr, what?
Bert Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 He probably means it. But he's also chose a decent time to come out and say so. If they lose, well "they're the best team in the league". If they get a result then it's a big boost for them.
Foxy harry Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 He said a similar thing when he was a pundit v Leeds this season
Mack Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 McCarthy is a brutally honest, straight & decent man. If he said that he means it and believes it and I'd interpret it as him warning his own fans not to expect to much later on.
