Leicester the best team in the Championship says boss
Mick McCarthy says Town are facing the best team in the Championship when Leicester visit Portman Road on Saturday.

The Foxes have had their most impressive start to a campaign in their history with 10 wins from their first 15 games and sit second in the league behind Burnley.

“For me, they are the best team in the division,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player.

“I know that is praise indeed when you see Burnley are top and you look at the players QPR and Wigan have got.

“I have watched them a few times this season though and they look like a team who are progressing and getting better.

“They went to Watford recently and bashed them [3-0] and we know what a good team Watford are. They are solid, have a very good goalkeeper in Kasper Schmeichel and they have plenty of firepower.

“In Andy King and Danny Drinkwater they also have arguably the best central midfield pairing in the Championship.”

It's all in his mind.

We now have to prove him right.

If we can't are we as good as we think we are.

Mind games it maybe.

But if we can't win them in november we won't win then in march april and may.

Like it or not we are the big boys at the top. (fan base wise and recent history bar qpr one season)

I think he's wrong but I don't think it's mind-games cos McCarthy seems to say it how he sees it.

QPR, IMO are the best squad in the division.

However, on our day, I think we can beat any Championship side.

Nice bit of mind games, McCarthy knows what he's doing whether he means it or not.

Nice to hear, but I hope it doesn't backfire on us.

Think McCarthy knows fully well what he is doing and it's commonplace in the football world these days.

Just means that IF they beat us, he can say to his players that they beat the best team in the league and make them feel even better about themselves.

He probably means it. But he's also chose a decent time to come out and say so.

If they lose, well "they're the best team in the league". If they get a result then it's a big boost for them.

McCarthy is a brutally honest, straight & decent man.

If he said that he means it and believes it and I'd interpret it as him warning his own fans not to expect to much later on.

That's exactly how I read it..
