Tielemans63 Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 Bit of a non-story really. The title is made out to be controversial but the actual story really isn't. Not sure why people are getting their fannies in a flap over it. He was asked about people criticising him and he gave a pretty stock response.
Johnny Cash Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 He must love me if he reads this forum... He has still been below par and lacklustre this season and half of last year, 2 goals vs Ipswich won't change my mind about that only a run of good form will. As usual some of the Bugent lovers have embarassed themselves. Using one good game tojstify there argument whilst bemoaning those who lambast the shit **** who have a good half of a season to support there argument.
Corky Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 What a great world we live in, team doing well, striker scoring goals yet some want to call players twats or whatever.

Keep getting that knowledge 2/3rd hand, as always wide of the mark. What a great world we live in, team doing well, striker scoring goals yet some want to call players twats or whatever. Agreed, its a bit sad really.

I don't think anyone who reads this forum loves you. So this half a season where Nugent is not only our top goal scorer in the league from open play, joint with Vardy, he is also joint top assists with Dyer, (who everyone has been bumming for his great start to the season). Joint top in appearances in what has been the best start to a season ever. Plus 6 penalties to his name. What a cvnt.
Danno Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 What a great world we live in, team doing well, striker scoring goals yet some want to call players twats or whatever.Agreed, some absolute ****** around.

He's scored 9 (10 according to Stringer) goals in 16 games. What do you want, Van Persie? Bergkamp? Puskas? And don't give me this rubbish about 36 games, or whatever you usually post, because half of those games are last season, which don't count because if you didn't know, a new season is a new start. For years, perhaps since Dickov, we've all said we need a striker that will score us 15+ goals a season and Nugent has provided this since joining, and you know what, he might just get 15+ goals again this season.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 Fvck me I'm not going to the KP at the weekend..... I'm off to Asda it sounds "pwopa nawty"
ealingfox Posted 25 November 2013 Posted 25 November 2013 So to sum up the debate, some posters think that because tickets for football matches are expensive, if you are a Leicester fan whenever you go to a game David Nugent should go to Asda and do your shopping for you, and others disagree.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Show me any instance where someone performs better at whatever they do when they are receiving any kind of non-constructive vitriolic criticism from any source and I'll agree that giving flak to any one of our players is justified.

It's amazing how you've got your finger on the pulse, all the way from america too, truly astonishing

Sharmania Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Nobody can excuse his goals from open play record this season but he HAS won us games and he HAS scored 10 goals this season. It's such a hard one to call because so many of those have been penalties but they have still helped up gain most of the points we have this season (I'll stop using the term "this season" now). I just can't stick to one opinion on the man. He frustrates the hell out of my when he misses a sitter but I love him when he rifles a penalty into the top of the net. I feel obliged to stick by him because of the shirt he wears but also because he seems like a good player to have next to you. Vardy and Wood both play better with Nugent than they do with each other and I think that is key for him constantly keeping his place. EDIT: 15 goals a season is good and steady for a striker in this league. Not many get above 20 and where other teams have players on 12 or 13 goals we have midfields who love to get goals like Drinky, Dyer, Knockaert and King.

If he's at Asda how will he score the goals that seem to annoy our fans ealing?
Sharmania Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 If he's at Asda how will he score the goals that seem to annoy our fans ealing? We'd have to judge him on what kind of bread he bought or something, perhaps? If he gets me brown bread I'm starting a new thread.
leicsmac Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Was he copping it from his own fans and this led to him playing better? Can see if fans of other clubs are giving it to you that you get riled up and want to prove them wrong in the way Sav did, but I really can't see the same thing happening if its the fans of your own club handing out the stick. Really can't find an instance where a player who takes flak from his own club performs better as a result. And because of that most people on here are missing the point. You can debate whether or not Nuges form merits giving him flak until the cows come home. But regardless of the reasons, if you give him stick in a way where you know he'll observe it, because of the above you are not helping him or the club, you are only helping yourself. And I think as fans we all have the overall interests of the club important to us, right?
Dan Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 I hate this shite. Some players get all mouthy as soon as they hit form again. I bet he wouldn't have dared talked in this way 2 weeks ago, or in that period between February and October where he was absolutely wank. Just get the fvck on with it, some of his criticism has been very justified. Or twats like you could just support the team! Can completely see both sides of this. Though I'm edging more towards what Kitchandro says - a forum like this isn't to arselick, it's to discuss football and the team. I get the vibe that Kitchandro would be vocally behind the side for the 90 on matchday.

dayday Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 I think Nuge needs to look at Danny Drinkwater,a player who also came in for some stick yet has responed in the best possible way,let his football do the talking. Drinkwater gets nothing but praise these days because the fans can see what he is doing, putting a shift in... If Nuge knuckles down keeps his gob shut then he will also get the justified praise.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Look at his name, look where he's from. Think about it for a moment, please... You didn't detect the hint of sarcasm then?

Agree with this but nugent does usually put a shift in. He is always one of the more energetic players in the side but this season he just hasn't looked as sharp or alert. Hopefully two neat finishes at Ipswich show he's on the way back to this.
Johnny Cash Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Look at his name, look where he's from. Think about it for a moment, please... Haha unbelievable isn't it.
Bettsj2 Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Nothing wrong with critisism. However, 'GET THAT SHIT TWAT NUGENT OFF. HE'S ****ING SHIT!!' Is not critisism and certainly isnt constructive.
shade Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 bottom line, he never goes out and tries not to score. assume he always puts in 100% that's all you can ask. you can't demand someone perform, if they don't you drop them but don't get annoyed at them.
Johnny Cash Posted 26 November 2013 Posted 26 November 2013 Keep getting that knowledge 2/3rd hand, as always wide of the . Why do I have 2nd/3rd hand information? Is it because where I live?
