dmayne7 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Would be the sort of gamble we previously gone for, Knockaert being the obvious example. I can't imagine him costing much so he fits that bill. His has successfully risen up the Scottish leagues which means that he may well come and quickly fit in. Over the last three season combined he has a goal every 1.4 games, his worst over these three seasons (this season, baring in mind it's half way through) with a goal every 1.7 goals after 19 games. Add to that the fact he's only 21 and he seems very much a Pearson player. We'll have to see what happens though. But Knocky was signed in the summer so had much more time to bed in. Plus, we're top of the league and promotion has to be the aim so I can't see him taking a punt on a 21 striker from the Scottish Premiership who has only half a year of top flight experience under his belt. Pearson is much more likely to go for somebody from overseas or in this country. Every signing is a risk but you need to be sure at this that of the season, that they'll be better than what you've already got and I don't think you can say that with this one.

But who are we going to get who's definitely better than what we got on a tight budget? I doubt many clubs are going to be willing to sell a quality striker at this point of the season without upping the price. This guy is a consistent goalscorer which is shown in this record this year. When Knocky signed, he knew very little English, so I'd imagine he would of had the language barrier in the first few months but that didn't stop him fitting in and playing great football. May has the momentum of three very good, consistent seasons with a goal less than every 2 games, so I'd imagine he could carry it on, especially in a team very capable of making chances. Him and Vardy would tear a lot of teams a new one if he carried on the way he's playing over the border.
kingfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 I've seen him score a few decent goals. But he looks like he should be in a rock band. Will probably go to someone like Sheff Wed.
pazzerfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Are we actually interested or is it just a guess?
ramadaone Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Gnabry from Arsenal looking like he will go out on loan and would be great for us but think more likely he will stay in Premiership ?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 According to a St Johnstone fan Steve May will join a championship club in January with many after him. He's a highscoring and hard working striker. Nigel's type of player? You heard it here first. Bobby Mackay, Inverness Cally, and ex City man scores plenty of goals at a higher level,
VLC86 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Well it won't be Wickham extended his loan with Sheffield Wednesday till 28th January. Clever move from Sunderland, bringing him back a few days before the window closes. They clearly want to offload him and are hoping he carries on banging them in. Would be a reasonable signing for us but can't see it happening for 2 reasons. 1- they will want more than we are willing to pay and 2- he has proven he can't hack it in the prem
cjslcfc Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Nige to Stringer "Maybe there will be some news at the end of the week, maybe there won't" Oh I wish you wouldn't tease Nige!
rico Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kenny Miller not had his contract renewed ,done a job at this level before
woznotwos Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 So he's better than Vardy then hahahaha!! touché
Molson Canadian Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kenny Miller not had his contract renewed ,done a job at this level before He is still under contract with the Vancouver Whitecaps untill July 2014
rico Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kenny Miller is f**king awful. 197 goals in 584 apps isn't awful?
Molson Canadian Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 I know it won't happen but, Camilo Sanvezzo who plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps, last years MLS golden boot winner is attracting interest from European clubs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X10jJN9yQh4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmDoZ4w3SuI amazing goal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlwmerKFgAU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxBQ8jaDM18

sylofox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Tree's want him for 400k. Todays star or was it the sun
deep blue Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 We do need another striker if one of Vardy or Nugent get injured where are the goals coming from upfront for me Wood although clearly can score a goal has not looked the same since his injury. Schlupp? GTF? And Wood back in a month. Maybe an experienced poacher (Fryatt?) on a month's loan may be as much as we need.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 We've not got a chance of getting Camilo, the guy is on a complete other level.
Molson Canadian Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 We've not got a chance of getting Camilo, the guy is on a complete other level. I think he will be made a Designated Player by the Whitecaps, he has stated somewhat that he wants to stay with them and gain citzenship so that he can represent Canada internationally. But Rosenberg have scouted him 3 times at least and it has been confirmed they have had 2 bids turned down, also other teams from Europe have made inquiries.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 When they come to the point where he wants to go, they'll get a very healthy fee for him, a fee that wouldn't be viable to us atm. I've seen him various times in the MLS and he's quality, should be interesting to see how he fares in Europe when the time comes.
kingfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Nobody tell Kingfox: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25560530 I know already. We'll see how it goes for him there. Other options available.
Zaid Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Sam Bailey seems to know where the net is. Wouldn't cost much? She's one of our own etc. stringer would love it
