Kasper 8 - solid as a rock all game

De Laet 6 - Had a difficult time against Hoillett

Moore - 10 An absolute rock, him and Morgan look like the best centre back partnership in the championship

Morgan - 9 Same as Moore, absolutely fantastic

Konch - 7 Very solid

Knocky - 7 Poor in first half but proved to be an attacking threat in the second

Drinky - 7 Played fairly well but I wish he'd have a pop sometimes instead of always looking for the pass, on the edge of the box you should be shooting not spreading it out wide

James - 7 Solid

Dyer - 7 Hit and miss but was always dangerous

Vardy - 8 Great goal and ran hard all day

Nugent - 7 Put a good shift in

The pressure was mad. That's one hell of a shift everyone has put in.

RDL - 7 - Steady as ever. Glad he's back

Morgan - 9 - Immense

Moore - 9 - Brilliant foil for Wes, our definite first 2 at CB.

Konch - 8 - Didn't stop moving forward, some great tackles, absorbed some torrid pressure well. One of his best games for the club, full stop.

 

Knocky - 7 - A lot of hard work 

Drinky - 8 - He's here, he's there, he's every fookin' where...

James - 7 - Brilliant start, bit quiet after the card (understandably) but so unlucky to rattle the bar.

Dyer - 7 - Great workrate again! Shocking shooting today, but who cares when he created that much.

 

Nugent - 7.5 - Hassled them all half and great head for Vardy's goal. Also bonus half for the squirrel incident.

Vardy - 8 - Great goal, great workrate, completely different player this season.

 

GTF - 7.5 - Played a massive game from the bench. Got stuck in, played some top passes and of course got Mr. Barton his marching orders!

Schlupp - 5.5 - Chasing everything down. Needs to work on his touch

Was - 6 - Not on for long but helped see the game out. Nutted by Benayoun and barely even noticed. Hilarious.

Kasper 7.5 - saved when he needed to. Not much to do second half compared to what I expected. 

 

De Laet 5.5 - consistently poor in possession, ok defensively. 

Morgan 9 - Rock solid. Back to his best.

Moore 9 - A young Wes Morgan.

Konchesky 8 - Shaky start, thought he'd end up getting terrorised by Phillips but he dealt with him nicely in the end. 

 

Knocky 7 - Quiet going forward, one or two sparks but did well helping out and kept it simple when necessary. 

Drinky 8 - Classy.

James 7.5 - Quietly effective, unlucky not to bag.

Dyer 7 - Usual self. Should've scored, mind. 

 

Vardy 9 - King.

Nuge 7.5 - Defensive striker was his position today.

De Laet 6 - Passing poor at times, probs our weakest player today

Morgan 8 - Absolute rock, kept Austin quiet

Moore 9 - MOTM, headed everything, quality performance

Konchesky 8 - Pleasantly surprised, how he kept Phillips quiet, well done Konch

 

Knockaert 7 - In and out the game, not effective enough in my opinion

Drinkwater 8 - Couple of sloppy passes, but the amount of times I said "Well in Drinky" must of been pushing 20.

James 7 - Kept to his task, closed down well

Dyer 7 - Like Knocky in and out the game a lot

 

Nugent 7 - Hustled and bustled, a little bit better

Vardy 8 - Bags of energy, and a quality finish

Konchesky - 7        Same as RDL but with some good balls down the left side as well

 

Drinkwater - 8          Together with James orchestrated the whole City game and especially good in 2nd half

Dyer - 7             Not his best game, should have got some of his shots on target but nevertheless great pace down the wing

Knockaert - 8         Struggled to get into the game at start but never gave up and put in as much effort today as he ever has

 

Vardy - 9            1 million quid? sounds like a bargain to me

Nugent - 9           looks likes he's learning from vardy now, ran his socks off all game and looked rejuvinated

De Laet 5 Could have given away a penalty. Given a hard time.

Morgan 9 Absolute rock. Back to his best

Moore 9 Shows what I know as I'd have played Miquel before the game. Moore was excellent- such a brave player who gives everything.

Konchesky 7 Did his job. Fantastic header clear late on

Dyer 6 Some awful finishing today but worked hard and provided us with a good outlet

Drinkwater 9 Gave everything. Got some very important blocks and tackles in, used the ball well. Brilliant

James 7 Disciplined performance against some top midfielders

Knockaert 6.5 Did his job and defended well. Unable to create much

Vardy 9 Workrate, touch, movement all brilliant. What a goal.

Nugent 7 Better than recent games. Worked hard, did well for the goal

Schlupp 4 Shows what I know (again) as I thought he might start today. His use of the ball was atrocious. Poor

GTF 7 Did exactly the job Pearson's brought him here to do. Some good touches, and brought a calmness to our play when in possession.

Wasilewski 7 Did fine. Almost gave away a pen though!

Kapser 8 - Good saves, good handling. Bad conditions for a keeper but he handled everything well.

RDL 6 - Match time he needs and bearing in mind the length of time he's been out, cant be too critical.

Wes 9 - Best performance of the season

Moore 9 - Best performance ever. Austin tried to target him and Moore just bullied him.

Konch 7 - Steady game. Didnt venture forward which helped maintain our defensive gameplan.

Knocky 7 - Played a very free role today but always ran his balls offto get back into the defensive right side position. Mature performance and only gave it away a couple of times.

Drinky 8 - Bossed the middle

James 8 - Looking like the player towards the end of last season

Dyer 8 - Always an outlet and mostly dangerous with it. Feet turned to Toblerone when shooting.

Nugent 8 - Much better performance. Ran, hassled and linked with Vardy very well.

Vardy 9 - All round game was excellent and the finish was superb.

GTF 7 - Held it well, linked play and put his foot in.

Schluppenator 6 - If he could pass he'd have played Dyer in twice. Only member of the squad that looks to be going backwards.

Was 7 - Big and mean was just what we needed at that point.

Nigel Pearson 10 - The perfect away performance. Let them have it and frustrated them.

Kasper 7 - A standard game for him. Commanding, some nice saves and good distribution.

RDL 6 - More time under his belt after a long lay off, did ok for most of the game.

Konch 7 - Solid, didn't let their pacey wingers bother him. That's experience for you.

Morgan 9 - His best game of the season so far.

Moore 8 - Didn't think he was as good as Wes today but he still put a beastly performance in.

Knocky 7 - Added a decent amount of work rate to his game today, sometimes he switched off though. Whenever he had the ball all he had in his mind was to go goal.

Dyer 7 - Wasted 2 Golden chances, again. Starting to become a regular thing. Always have them a problem with his pace though.

Drinky 8 - Ran the game for us. He's such a massive player for us.

James 8 - Him and Drinky compliment each other so well. Unlucky not to score. Did well picking up the scraps today.

Nuge 7 - Worked hard, and got an assist (not sure if it counts though because it was a header? ) more of the same on Thursday.

Vardy 7 - Great enthusiasm, work rate and endeavour. He'd not have scored that goal last season because he wouldn't have had the confidence to shoot. Great instinctive first time finish.

GTF 6 - Did ok, another one who offers a lot just with his experience.

Schlupp 6 - Not on for long, I thought he did ok though.

Morgan 9 - Best player on the pitch, amongst a batch of ex-England internationals.

Moore 8.5 - Second best player on the pitch

Knockaert 6.5 - Entirely ineffective in the first half, better in the second. Surprisingly useful at the end of the game, using the ball intelligently.

James 7 - Did fine, came close to doubling our lead.

Drinkwater 7.5 - On the whole he used the ball very well. Still wish he'd move it quicker, but whenever we threatened to do anything he was invariably involved.

Dyer 7 - Dangerous but wasteful.

 

Nugent 6 - Another lackadaisical performance. Bottled at least 3 50/50s in the first half (one of which should have seen him clean through). Good flick on for the winner.

Vardy 7 - Good finish and worked his nuts off.

I thought it was clear he was told not to get forward? Hence the fact Konch didn't either. 

 

 

It was clear today that the full backs were not given as much freedom as usual, and probably the reason we were not caught on the counter as much as we normally are.

I generally agree with what you say Bert, as I do with your player ratings.  The only thing that i couldn't quite work out was your love for Ben Marshall!!

Kasper 8 - Solid, Good saves.

 

De Laet 6 - Poor start, bad passes and could of been punished. 2nd half better.

Morgan 8 - Like a rock, 1 mistake with his positioning for the Phillips chance first half.

Moore 9 - Top Draw..much better than Was.

Konchesky 8 - Very steady on the whole..poor start for ONeils decent chance but improved as the game progressed.

 

Knocky 8 - Very good. A bit incelated but very good little touches to keep posession in tight areas, couldnt do much more tbh. 

James 8 - Very classy, dominanted midfield and reads the game brilliantly.

Drinky 9 - Top draw. bar one laboured pass near the end he was fantastic.

Dyer 7 - Good performance, beat his full back and gave us an outlet. Should of scored though.

 

Nugent 8 - Good performance from Nuge, good passes for Vardys offside(onside) call & Dyers chance and worked hard. Bottled a few chances but a lot better.

Vardy 9 - Runned, Hassled, Stopped them starting attacks as easy and a constant threat. A wonderful finish just summed his performance up. Brilliant.

 

MOM - Drinky/Vardy/Moore are all worthy winners.
