This Contract Situation

Harry, Pearson definitely implies progress here - but I'd agree contracts now being signed is possibly bollocks, pure conjecture.

Quotations from the manager in that article

"I am hopeful that we can get some of the situation resolved."

"It is a balancing act for us in terms of the financial side and commitments - but also we want to sustain what is a very positive first half of the season,"

"I understand the questions and concerns about it [contract situation], but we have to get the priorities right. And our priority is to try to win football matches and do it in the knowledge that things will be done in the correct manner."

Only the first could vaguely be interpreted as progress being made. But even then not really, he just says he's hopeful. The title is misleading.

@MrFootballNews <- He had it right the whole time..

Found a very good tweeter, been right on most deals, also a leicester fan, www.twitter.com/Transfer_Talk

Coincidence... I think not.

It just gets more embarrassing for BBC Radio Leicester (including Stringer). Now it appears as if they're that desperate that they're making up stories just to get one. Pathetic. lol

It is a busy time for City as the club has opened talks with several of the existing squad about extending their contracts.

The Mercury understands those talks include goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, captain Wes Morgan and winger Lloyd Dyer.

With two January additions now in and us being unlikely to add anyone else unless injury forces us too (even then it would probably be a loan at a later date) I think good January business would be getting some of the key players tied down on new deals. Especially the players other teams are sniffing around at.

Fantastic news, so glad Dyer is getting an extension. No mention of Nuge though....

Think he needs a few more performances like Friday night then talks will start. I do think he will get a new deal eventually.

Dyer deserves one promotion or not. He's totally won me over this season and I think he's an asset. Vital to the way we play the game.

Agreed. His pace makes him a danger to any defence in any division. I haven't seen a full back all season who can live with his speed.

And surprisingly this season, his strength,

I know he's always been a battler, but this season with all the size he's been putting on he's really using it well!  Not many knock him off the ball
