ollielcfc Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I've just listened to the comments from Pearson and it seems Stringer was up to his usual tricks. "Hope to get some situations sorted out soon" is the basics of what Pearson said
Ric Flair Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 To be fair that's a bit more encouraging than what was previously said over recent weeks.
Bert Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Some people forget that it's Stringers job to get more listeners. Seems people tuned in so it worked.
Fox92 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Some people forget that it's Stringers job to get more listeners. Seems people tuned in so it worked. Was just about to post the same thing. I have said it before but he's a journalist, he works in the media, it's what they do. If he's got more people to listen in, or to take notice, to then pass it on or whatever, then it's worked and he's doing his job correctly.
Babylon Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Some people forget that it's Stringers a cock Harsh.
Out Foxed Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Some people forget that it's Stringers job to get more listeners. Seems people tuned in so it worked. and by the same taken people have the right to call him out on cheap tricks.
daddylonglegs Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Pearson was never going to give anything away. Its not his job either arguably
Guest MattP Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Some people forget that it's Stringers job to get more listeners. Seems people tuned in so it worked. It makes me laugh that people still fall for it Any big news will be out on Twitter by genuine respected journalists/insiders these days (i.e Sven sacking) long before Stringer would be able to pull it off as an exclusive. If any of our players sign new contracts I can 100% gaurantee it won't be Ian Stringer breaking the news.
Guest MattP Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 More I think about it though we have got this spot on. Players with something to prove are far better to have than players with nothing to prove. A host of new three year deals given out and we could see a serious drop in motivation from certain players.
davieG Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Nigel Pearson: Leicester City making progress on contracts Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says the Championship leaders are making progress in negotiations with some of their 11 out-of-contract players. The final-year Foxes Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson and 11 of his players are in the final year of their contracts. They are: Kasper Schmeichel (pictured), Sean St Ledger, Marcin Wasilewski, Wes Morgan, Paul Konchesky, Zac Whitbread, Neil Danns, Martyn Waghorn, Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Lloyd Dyer and David Nugent. Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and striker David Nugent are among those in the final year of their deals. Pearson, who is also out of contract in the summer, fears the uncertainty could disrupt their promotion hopes. But he told BBC Radio Leicester: "I am hopeful that we can get some of the situation resolved." The Foxes are four points clear at the top of the table after 24 games and Pearson says it is imperative they ensure they do not waste their good work on the pitch - even though they must have one eye on finances. "It is a balancing act for us in terms of the financial side and commitments - but also we want to sustain what is a very positive first half of the season," Pearson added. "I understand the questions and concerns about it [contract situation], but we have to get the priorities right. And our priority is to try to win football matches and do it in the knowledge that things will be done in the correct manner."
Fox92 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Can only be positive if Nige sees it as progress. Good to read he wants to get priorities right, as well.

Can I just point out that the article itself doesn't actually refer to the headline at all? All I can see here is what we've already known before: "I am hopeful that we can get some of the situation resolved". But nothing about "making progress"! It's like Stringer (or BBC Radio Leicester) promising something, only for him/them to not being able to live up to it.
Corky Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I saw nothing there about Pearson discussing progress
Bluearmy 316 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Rumours on twitter are wes & kasper have agreed new contract deals. Hope this is correct. https://twitter.com/futboldosage/status/420969809572929536
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Pearson implies we're at a standstill earlier today and then bang, bang two contracts signed? I'm doubtful.
Lionator Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I was dubious but he does have a high ratio of followers, maybe just maybe, he could have some inside info.
Babylon Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 13 tweets... One about us enquiring about Jordan Rhodes (which is clearly a pile of plop). Plop plop plop.
