Itsthejoeker Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Seeing as we're doing well at the moment, I think it'd be good for us all to own up to our previous doubts and wipe the slate clean. Morgan - 20 goals conceded in 10 gamesHmm... I was wrong, Morgan has been a very solid CB and has done us proud so far this season, and last season. Anyone else got anything the would like to confess?
LCCFox96 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 A premature slice of humble pie here. I said I didn't think Phillips could have much of an impact off the bench. Judging by Saturday I was very very wrong to have doubted him. My bad.
NathanC93 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Couldn't slate Drinky enough last season. Thought he was utter shite and when his name was in the infamous 'deadwood' list as posted by some, I wouldn't have minded if he fvcked off. Oh how wrong I was.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 During our bad run last season I don't think I would of shed a tear if NP had gone but turns out we just needed a bit of patience. Definately my bad
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I said give them to Xmas and go from there, shows what I know, I was hoping this was a replacement for the balti pie. In all fairness credit where it's due? Good on you
maynefox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Slated Vardy last season and when I heard he was starting on the opening day of the season (v M'boro) I could only say "oh for fudge sake Pearson!!"How wrong was I and have been this season!!
Jon the Hat Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I thought we were going to collapse over Christmas. Nope!!!
Kitchandro Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 If it was up to me Dyer, Vardy, Moore and Drinkwater could have gone in the summer and I wouldn't have cared. This season they've been amongst our best performers. I was also worried Pearson had lost it. 80% of people accepted that he probably should go before the Forest game on the last day.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Pleased to say I never wanted Pearson out and I've always been a massive backer/support of his... The only thing I will concede is that when I went to Barnsley, and saw what was arguably the most disgraceful performance I've ever seen a Leicester side deliver, I looked at it and thought that he must have lost the players and had no way of turning it round. Glad that wasn't the case. In terms of players, I thought Konchesky's legs had gone last season and that it was time to get rid. He's been (Saturday aside) re-invigorated this season and one of our best performers so far IMO.
foxer Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Yeah I've slated Konch on numerous occasions but he's looked great this season! I also call dyer every name under the sun and then completely worship him on a gamely basis.
NewburyFox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 After that game at Barnsley, I wanted Pearson to go. It was ****ing dreadful; no effort, no leadership, and it was topped off by Marshall's antics near the end. I didn't think Nigel would turn it round, it was that bad. Delighted to say that I was wrong.
Nalis Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Just a general one from me - I probably had the least enthusiasm ever over the summer as a Leicester fan and apathy for the new season was at an all time high. Then comes one of our most enjoyable seasons in a long time, funny isnt?
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 After that game at Barnsley, I wanted Pearson to go. It was ****ing dreadful; no effort, no leadership, and it was topped off by Marshall's antics near the end. I didn't think Nigel would turn it round, it was that bad. Delighted to say that I was wrong. I think more carefully I said "this is the first time I wouldn't mind if Pearson left" after that, but yes it was the same point for me. I remember listening to that garbage whilst digging up my driveway in the freezing cold just thinking this couldn't be going any worse now. Thank god the owners showed patience
Harry - LCFC Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Pleased to say I never wanted Pearson out and I've always been a massive backer/support of his... The only thing I will concede is that when I went to Barnsley, and saw what was arguably the most disgraceful performance I've ever seen a Leicester side deliver, I looked at it and thought that he must have lost the players and had no way of turning it round. Glad that wasn't the case. I was at the Barnsley game too and it really was awful. Deserved to lose heavily but worst of all was that players just weren't trying as hard as they should. It stopped there though. The performance at Brighton was a spectacular change in direction, excellent display and IMO deserved to beat the form team in the league. That was the moment we turned it around. As others have mentioned, it was just the Barnsley game where I was left wondering if Pearson had lost the players' belief in him.
ScouseFox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I thought Jeff Schlupp would be good. I apologise.
MattGamble92 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 This is why i never slag anyone off. Support any of our players through anything. What being a supporter is about. And you look less of a twat that way
lgfualol Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I really didnt like Vardy and hoped he was going to get sold. And now.... he's one of my favourite players and I love when he scores. I was also guilty of wanting Dyer to go... makes me sick thinking about it.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I would like to just post on behalf of Peter Beagrie who, himself, deserves some big humble pie: "Brilliant home form has always been a plus but I feel the away form could be their Achilles heel this year" http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/15231/8989096/peter-beagrie-blogs-on-leicester-stevenage-and-kevin-keegan And of course, his pre-season preview here: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/15231/8850132/champion-challenge
damolcfc Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I thought forest might struggle to beat a west ham youth and reserve team. again. .. they are led to believe it was a premier league team and goes down in their history of success (with a 30year gap) I was wrong.
Mark_w Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I would like to just post on behalf of Peter Beagrie who, himself, deserves some big humble pie: "Brilliant home form has always been a plus but I feel the away form could be their Achilles heel this year" http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/15231/8989096/peter-beagrie-blogs-on-leicester-stevenage-and-kevin-keegan And I'll post on behalf of Col city fan for the same reasons. Anyway, I was wrong about Steve Bruce. He is in fact a competent football manager.
Solihullfox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Is the title of the thread just designed to be seen by Shearfox so that he posts an apology again.......
Bert Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Used to slate De Laet to the hills. Didn't think he was good enough. Happy to admit I was wrong. He's been class for us.
RobHawk Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Nothing to declare here! Said this on the 14th May last year and stand by it! Think this was in reply to something Col said You could argue that we have been successful with the stability of Nigel over the last 18 months. We have improved our league position, getting to the playoffs under him for the 2nd time, the wage bill has been reduced, some bad eggs have gone, some good young players have come in and at times we have looked unbeatable in this league. Now i understand the disappointment of the 2nd half of this season, but sometimes that is football! For me if Nigel is given another season to get rid of some more players that are sat on the wage bill but not part of his squad (Beckford, Danns, st ledger etc) and bring in some more Pearson players. I think this time next year we will be sitting pretty! For me slow steady success is alot more likely to be maintained than a quick flash in the pan. Look at Swansea, who went up and stayed up! They may have changed managers but the ethos and spine of the team has remained the same! The likes of Ashley Williams, Leon Brittain, Angel Rangel and Nathan dyer who are still regulars were there in their play off season. Change has occured but slowly and the team is constantly improved but on the basis of the solid foundations already there! For me, Nigel has to be given 1 more full season before talk of change should even be considered.
