Nick Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Never thought Vardy would make the step up to the Championship in a convincing way. I take that back, though there still isn't enough goals in him yet for my liking - though he can hit the post nearly every game. Doubt he'd cut the Prem but I've been proved wrong once already. Oh and Pearson and his substitutions - much improved.
Finnaldo Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I used to think that several didn't mean seven.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Thought DD lacked balls. While obviously talented, I thought his backwards passing last year was a symptom of not handling pressure. He's obviously been one of our star performers this yer, although thinking about it we haven't really struggled this season to find out whether he can play well when the team isn't. Still, slice of pie for me. Flipping starving!
Hollism Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 After the Huddersfield cup game last year I said something like "I'll be quite happy if Waghorn never pulls on a Leicester shirt again, and Vardy can clear off as well." I was really angry with Waghorn's performance and it was probably because of him that I wasn't more pissed off with Vardy. Don't know what happened to him over the summer (other then that haircut), but he's shown great quality this season.
Brooksy Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 After that game at Barnsley, I wanted Pearson to go. It was ****ing dreadful; no effort, no leadership, and it was topped off by Marshall's antics near the end. I didn't think Nigel would turn it round, it was that bad. Delighted to say that I was wrong. Thought his time was up after that absolutely dreadful performance. I remember reading the post match thread and the majority, me included, wanted him gone. So pleased that he has turned it around.
Munshi Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I couldn't give a shit about Drinkwater nearly leaving, been our best player for us this season along with Moore, shows what we know Kingfox.
Vlad the Fox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 And I'll post on behalf of Col city fan for the same reasons. Anyway, I was wrong about Steve Bruce. He is in fact a competent football manager. Hold that thought he is just following his form. This is how it usually goes for Bruce, year one, gets team promoted playing good football, year two, team appears to consolidate in premier league, year three, the slide is on, bad performances and under-performing players lead his team into relegation trouble usually resulting in him being sacked/leaving. Year four if by any chance he is still there he will never see the season out and will end up at another top half championship club. Repeat.
Babylon Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Nope... Although I should have abused my mod powers more when I had them.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Wanted Pearson gone, albeit only for a few hours while my seething rage took me over, after Barnsley away. Bad call.
kingfox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I called Drinkwater shit I apologize(Deserved it at the time though) I called De Laet shit defensively I apologize(Deserved it at the time though) I thought Harry Kane would be good I apologize(I was pissed at the time though)
foxoffderby Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Was not sure about the KP signing thought he was to old. He was excellent against Leeds.
MC Prussian Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I wasn't so sure whether our midfield would be strong enough to sustain our general way of playing - I think we got found out last season by having been too lightweight in that department. All players have matured quite a bit and the influx of more experienced signings has worked miracles. I was mildly optimistic before the start of the season and fancied us finishing either just within or just outside the playoffs again, but would have never dreamt of seeing the club in first place at the moment. All in all, I'm just glad to be on the "right" side this time, seeing stability blossoming and committing to the same manager paying off. It feels so… good. Also, I have a very easy recipe for delicious humble apple pie for anyone of the doom and gloom brigade from previous seasons…
The Blur Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I doubted KP signing. Though it is too soon to tell but I just thought the bloke deserve one tenth of my apology for that dummy he sold against Leeds.
Simonb Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I wrongly got excited by the Bakayogo signing I also slated the fact Dyer was in the first 11 on the opening day, he's been immense and should be one of the first names on the team sheet now
kingfox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I couldn't give a shit about Drinkwater nearly leaving, been our best player for us this season along with Moore, shows what we know Kingfox. There's a problem with people on this forum *cough* Babs They don't forget the bad things you've said about players. At the end of the day, we can only judge a player on how they were playing at the time, Drinkwater deserved to get slated, and now he deserves to be praised.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 If it was up to me Dyer, Vardy, Moore and Drinkwater could have gone in the summer and I wouldn't have cared. This season they've been amongst our best performers. I was also worried Pearson had lost it. 80% of people accepted that he probably should go before the Forest game on the last day. 80% of which group of people? I take your point but wonder what you're gauging it from. This forum, whilst interesting and enjoyable, probably isn't a good gauge for judging a wide spectrum of feeling. I'm not patting myself on the back but I've remained completely in favour of NP & have thought all through this tenure that he was the man to achieve long term success. That said, I wouldn't have been surprised had he been ousted in the summer.
Munshi Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I called Drinkwater shit I apologize(Deserved it at the time though) I called De Laet shit defensively I apologize(Deserved it at the time though) I thought Harry Kane would be good I apologize(I was pissed at the time though) When was De laet ever even shit?
TrentFox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I felt NFP probably should have gone after Derby away last year, particularly as Adkins was available as a potentially quality replacement.
kingfox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 When was De laet ever even shit? Last season, he has never been the best defensively in my opinion. Great at attacking though.

It's only a problem for people who keep getting things wrong, like you!! Ha. You should try waiting to see people before slating them, to be fair you aren't as rash as you used to be.
Babylon Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Last season, he has never been the best defensively in my opinion. Great at attacking though. Here we go again.
ronnup Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Had massive concerns about DD and James for various reasons. Both proved me wrong. Happily.
