Watford (pre match)

I have never been on a Watford forum before, not really sure what the attraction is to going on a forum for fans of another club? Jealousy? Trying to pretend to be slightly older than 13 perhaps?

It sure isn't to talk about what should be a fairly entertaining game judging by the fooking retarded shite this lot are coming out with

Watford fan here. Never liked you lot, never will. Less said the better.

You're on a decent run. On form alone, this should be another W for you guys, but I'm sure you are aware, just as much as us, that nothing ever follows the script in The Championship. Expecting a decent game between the 2 sides. Bragging rights aside, you're up at the top for a reason.

One thing I do want to pick up on though is snippets like this;

I don't think they have and here is why:

One was a play off semi-final, which we ultimately went on to lose (wah wah wah) That feeling must have hurt you guys, if Knockaert hadn't bottled the penalty I'm sure you'd have been on cloud nine. As he was lining up to take I'm sure many of you were sat at home watching your TVs thinking you were off to Wembley, in contrast, I was sat in my seat at Vicarage Rd thinking "****, oh well not bad for a transition season." Then it happened. You all know what is next, I won't put you through the pain and anguish of it all, there are enough flooding issues around at the moment. It must've hurt, I know what I felt when that penalty was awarded. Even you guys have to admit it was a bit of a joke. The reason we celebrated like we did was because everything changed in seconds, Dread to hope to elation.

The second reason the score wasn't settled was that Novemeber was a league game. We had the chance to pick up those 3 points elsewhere. Yeah, you played well and we were beaten by clearly the better side but it didn't take away that one moment at Vicarage Road back in May. 2 completely different scenarios that lead to 2 different results. One a knockout competition, the other league.

Also, to add, you criticism of Watford fans celebrating the semi-final like we had gone up, can I just add that after Nugent had scored at KP Stadium there were a certain set of fans singing "Que Sera Sera" and it certainly wasn't our lot.

Let us see what tomorrow brings.

The thing with many Watford fans on both forum sides as of right now is that they still presume rubbing it in with the happenings last May would somehow trigger something.

You can go on about it as long as you want to. From my perspective, I'm long over it. It felt really bad on that particular day, simply because of the incredible drama.

But all this recent nostalgia has been cast away thanks to the current run of results and us being top, looking at finishing the season getting promoted automatically.

The only reason Watford fans still continue to post on here is because they're expecting to cause a stir and create a reaction in their favor.

I'm sorry - can't help you there.

You have an agenda despite trying to come across as "humble" - and I know this because you've been posting some rather less favorable stuff about LCFC on your own forum under the same username.  :)

There are way more Watford fans desperate to sign up on a Leicester City forum than the other way round.

If that doesn't show which fans are craving more attention, then what?

Nine, ten months later, I find it rather boring banging on about one particular game. All. The. Time. What else do you have to offer apart constant reminiscence?

We're looking at your club and we're seeing in what turmoil it is finding itself.

We know what it feels like and we know where we are now. We look at each other, look back at your club, we nod and we move on.

Looking forward to an intriguing match tomorrow.

Reading things from other fans like:

History was made last Season . Watford for the right reasons and Leicester for cheating.

It will be remembered forever and a day. It will appear on a Question of Sport sooner or later. The NATION will be reminded of their antics.

They should be proud to be a part of this tinpot clubs history.

Do they honestly think your average football fan would give a shit about it? It was a remarkable if not bizarre 30 seconds that ultimately led to nothing. The fact that it lead to absolutely nothing* means it didn't matter.

(*in fact, a massive drop off resulting a season languishing in the bottom half of the table)

The only time they'll make a question on Question of Sport is:

Sue: "True or false: there is a football team based in Watford"

**BUZZ**

Tuffers: "False!"

Sue: "Sorry Phil, it is in fact… true!"

You and some of your other fans may not think it's settled, but that's just because our respective fortunes have swung in vastly different directions.  Most of your fans look at the table and our game at yours and realise we've moved on with our lives as should they, so they just catalogue us as that team you beat on that great day and think no more of it. Unfortunately you're one of the few who bitterly cling to that one positive memory to keep you warm in the harsh cold of your season so far and let it manifest in a bizarre hatred of a club you have no rivalry with.

I'm not going to pretend I don't feel some satisfaction seeing you where you are: You had your shot at the final, decided to give it the big 'un, then collapsed.  But for me that's the end of it and tomorrow will be another game against a lower-to-mid-table Championship side who we'll have to put in a proper shift against to avoid an upset. Stop making your fans look stupid, I'm sure they don't appreciate having to be associated with pond life like you.

If they do (with everyone at the BBC bar the East Midlands Today hosts being Leicester fans) hopefully they'd just edit it and stick the important bit in

Yep.  You can't deny it's gone down as one of the great bizarre moments in football and I'm sure we'll be seeing it on low-budget clip shows on BBC3 for years to come, but I can guarantee in future years more people outside of our 2 clubs will remember it as the time Leicester fvcked up a playoff semi than the time Watford scored that freak goal, presuming they even remember the 2nd club in that match was a small league 1 side called Watford in the first place.

Cheers for the 6 points, hopefully we'll play you again in a few years :)

EDIT: actually no, I could do without a game against a team who should be in league 1 :)

I don't understand. Everytime we play Watford this board becomes inundated with Watford fans. We never have this problem with other teams.

Watford remind me of that weird kid at school that tries too hard to fit in.

Feeling's mutual considering that you're a tinpot feeder club for a tinpot Italian team lol

They just remind me of a few Chelsea fans whose second team is Watdinese. They are like the pimpled penis of football

I love this "we'll always have the moment" debate the Twatford fans are recycling again and again.

Yep. You'll also have the "moment" when Kev smashed home that penalty in Extra time at Wembley.

What you won't have is the feeling of being invincible at the top of the Championship after 9 successive wins. It looks like we will be going up this season. You tell me you wouldn't trade that Deeney goal for promotion, go on. lol lol

Watford fans are brilliantly funny, complete and utter nonsense and their arrogance is beyond match. Admittedly you laugh at them for being window-licking mongoloids rather than with them, but still...

Posted

Yeah, they might also show Chris Wood's goal earlier this season on it.

They can bang on about that incident last season all they want because they've had nothing since. We've had 21 wins, a thrilling cup win over a Premier League side and a 10 point lead currently.

Who knows, they might win tomorrow. But it won't mean much really as it wasn't a play-off win.

Posted

Yup. They've classed it as a "Platinum" game. Something that only happens when the big boys roll into town. No clue why they've done it for us though.

Ha ha, well obviously their beloved club are not on the same wave length as the Foxes Talk pikeys!

Do LCFC think we're tin pot, Platinum says not! biglaugh.gif

Don't they realize that we love charging Watford extra just because?

Jesus... do you lot realise they are just taking the piss on their forum? They are doing it on purpose to get a reaction on here, and it's working.

both good points, i recind my initial statement.

I did hear your point in terms of scorelines though! A severe thrashing is due, fingers crossed. 10-0, a goal to represent each win in the run would do nicely tomorrow, break another record in the process...

It works in both ways. Judging by the influx of new Hornets posters on here, we're a bit more successful in our own endeavor, though.

Success attracts jealousy, what can one do?

EDIT: And leave Jesus out of the argument - he's innocent and pure!
