jimmeh Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Assuming kasper does leave... Who would you want us to sign? Logan for me has to go. He's not good enough even for a back up. I can't see kasper staying at all. Will be far bigger clubs who offer him a deal in summer. Will jaaskelainen be available for a year's deal? He isn't getting a game for west ham at the moment.
AKCJ Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Why would you assume Kasper is leaving? He's made it pretty clear that if we're in the PL then he'll stay.
broughtonblue Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Why would we assume he will leave? See my recent post in kasper v England
jimmeh Posted 6 March 2014 Author Posted 6 March 2014 Just simply don't think he will stay. He may have said that before but when the offers come flooding in from big clubs this summer then I have no doubt he will leave. Anyone with ambition would do the same. We may be a premiership club but the chance of joining a club who play in europe? What do you expect any professional to do.
Leicesterpool Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Shay Given maybe available on a free in the summer! If Kasper was to leave us suddenly in the summer, then we could bring in Given for one season.
ealingfox Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 In the event Kasper does leave, Marshall from Cardiff has to be worth a punt if none of the top 8 come in for him. They're going down but he's been absolutely enormous for them this season.
Guest MattP Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Why would you assume Kasper is leaving? He's made it pretty clear that if we're in the PL then he'll stay. Has he?! Why would we assume he will leave? See my recent post in kasper v England Because sides like AC Milan are supposdly interested and if that's the case, he's gone whatever we offer him. Hopefully it will just be a few mid table PL clubs offering him contracts, if thats the case I think he'll stay. If he does go though Ruddy from Norwich or Marshall from Cardiff arent bad shouts if they go down.
PerfumePonce Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 We know how much he wants to be #1 though. I can't think of many teams in Europe who will play him as their #1. If Lloris moves away from Tottenham then perhaps he could go there but will they be playing in Europe next season? Not going to replace De Gea. Liverpool have a similar keeper in Mignolet and Reina still on their books. Chelsea have Cech and Courtois as his back up. Not seen enough of him but I'd say Pantillimon is a better keeper.I wouldn't be angry if he left for a big club. I'd be disappointed if he wasn't getting games though. I would be angry if he went to a Hull, Norwich type of club though.I think he'll stay if we go up. Perhaps he can look at Lindegaard as an example as to what sitting on the bench can do to your international career.
fuchsntf Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Hes going to Dortmund...with Shay Given coming to us for one season. Just read it on a German sports newsflash...
Brainy Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 This is a guy that has never been settled or guaranteed first team football until he joined us. Going to a big club will most likely result in him sitting on the bench more often that not, so as long as we go up I think he'll stay.
EnglishOxide Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 I hope he stays. Does he really want to be a journyman number two keeper at clubs flirting with Europe? Or does he want to stay here, establish himself as a top flight keeper, build his reputation and become a legend. If we are not competing for Europe in a few years then he could go and i'd have few qualms. But before he came to us he was poncing around in Man City reserves and Notts County and slagged off by his own Leeds fans. So hopefully he honours what we/Nigel did for his career without jumping ship at the first opportunity.
Marmite Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 If we go up I think he will stay with us for one season, if he has a good season I can see him moving on
ozleicester Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 He wants to play for a big club and on the world stage and who can blame him... So HE IS STAYING!
STUHILL Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 You guys are all crazy. We have a player sat on the bench just biding his time for the Premiership. CONRAD LOGAN please stand up!
foxfanazer Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Vito Mannone has been decent at Sunderland. Kasper is staying though!
Carter The Boss Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 I would love to see him stay, genuinely think its a 50/50 call. We have given him stability and a platform to improve, and could give him a decent shot at the Prem. I'd hope he signs a deal and see how next season (assuming we are in the Prem) works out. If we come back down, sell him on at the end of the season. IF he does go this summer, I'd go for Ross Turnbull. Decent pedigree from sitting on the bench at Chelsea, and I think only signed a 1 year deal at Donny. He is also the cousin of my fiances best friends husband so I could have a word....
Guest Bilo Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 If we go up, he stays. He's forced his way into the Danish first XI and did brilliantly last night, why jeopardise that by sitting on a bench studying your paycheck? Kasper strikes me as tge kind of player who wants to be out there every week. We'll be able to offer him that, and in the Premier League too. I could see him wanting to go if we were rock bottom in January though.
kingcarr21 Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 bring keller and flowers out of retirement. They would still be ahead of logan
indierich06 Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 You guys are all crazy. We have a player sat on the bench just biding his time for the Premiership. CONRAD LOGAN please stand up! He would stand up if he could, but all that time on the bench has left his legs completely atrophied and useless.
Beliall Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Kasper will be a leicester player next season. And if he plays like he did last night, hell be massive for us
