kingcarr21 Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 with derby losing it has given us a great chance to extend the gap to 16 points on 3rd. I truely believe that we will put barnsley to the sword knowing that this could be the game that puts us beyond the reach of any other team below the top 2 and virtually getting us promotion. I think last years game will spur us on and can only see us putting at least 5 past this lot. But i suppose the championship throws up some strange results and Barnsley are playing well at home so cant take them for granted but i would be disappointed with anything less than a win the way were playing. Just waiting for a bad referee decision to end this unbeaten run
KFS Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Dyer back in for this one please IF fitConfirmed on the official Twitter that he's not. Achilles
cc_star Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 This joker: Disgraceful how clubs like them and Bolton can run up silly amounts of loses and nothing ever seems to happen. Makes you wonder if there is any point in balancing the books! Anyway, I've got a decent feeling about this match, could we sneak a 2 - 1 victory? Could we? We need a chant to inform these clubs that this year we've spent a total of 500k in transfer fees. Transfer fees are less than half the story Player's wage deals a huge part & while we're benefitting from living well beyond our means with players like Schmeichel, Nugent, maybe even Schlupp, King & Dyer along with the likes of Gallagher, Danns & SSL we're never going to be on an even keel. And yes we've taken steps to redress this but we've still signed Drinkwater, James, Morgan, Knockaert, Mahrez & co despite living well beyond our means So I can see why other clubs who do balance their books have a problem with it

Kitchandro Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 I would take a draw as its a dangerous game but i actually think we might nick it. They will be well up for this, especially after yesterdays result gives them hope and confidence. With a bit of luck Burnley will drop points today and ease any nerves beforehand, we can then absorb the early aggressive pressure and dictate with our own game. Are you joking? These are fvcking shite, if we play average we should beat them. If we play well we should smash them. I'm expecting a win. We're a totally different class.
ScouseFox Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 i don't really like barnsley. all cos of a thread on here a few years ago when one of their fans got all pissy cos we dismissed them as an easy victory but only drew 1-1. he came on here and wrote a ridiculously long post about how we should be more respectful to clubs like barnsley because they were a good club and had been in the championship longer than us so were somehow our superiors. fúck off barnsley. we should be beating shitty clubs like this without even trying. 0-4. goodnight. next.

The money we've spent in the last year is merely an investment that is looking sound at the moment. 'Not living within their means' would suggest huge debt that we can't handle, which may have been the case at one point but doesn't seem to be now. I'm not quite sure why small clubs like Barnsley who's only hope is to stay in the division think we should be spending in the same way as them. They're more likely to have to cut the wage bill than get any boost in income. We're completely different beasts and as such will have different business models.
Jon the Hat Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Barnsley are one of those little northern clubs with a rich history and a shit team. Roll em over boys.
suffolk fox Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Old player syndrome to haunt us again 1 1 O'grady for them Nugent for us.
ealingfox Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Would be nice to fit a real hammering on the road in somewhere this season. We've only managed more than 2 goals three times in away games so far this season, against Carlisle, Watford and Millwall. This is only a tough, tricky or dangerous game in the sense that each and every game in this division is tough, tricky or dangerous. It's ok for us to be expecting a win, according to the table these are bloody shocking. All that being said I would of course take a 0-1 if offered it now.

wagfox Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 See this as a game we have to win just to show how far we have come, previous seasons these so called easier games are where we let ourselves down. So going to go with a 2 - 0 win, bout time we got a Knocky special. COYBs
hairy Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 One thing I know is we need to win it to stop Burnley closing the gap to less than a win.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Confirmed on the official Twitter that he's not. AchillesThat's a shame, I'm sure whoever replaces him will have a good game hopefully anyway

We're a totally different class. I think sometimes that people forget that we are top of the table, unbeaten in 14 and playing some fantastic football. Happy with a draw at the 23rd placed side before the game? Seriously?

muzzy1981 Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Kasper De Laet Morgan Wasyl Schlupp Knockaert Drinkwater James Mahrez Vardy Wood Logan, Moore, Hammond, King, GTF, Nugent, Phillips Isn't Dyer back? Surely he makes the bench at least? I would prefer to see Mahrez get another full game and Wood get a decent bit of time on the pitch, need to start blooding them for the prem (did i just say the P-word sorry)!

Dyer still out according to Pearson - can see him playing the same team - no reason to change as most have had a 10 day rest.
midland_red Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Still say this will be a tough match against a team fighting for survival. I know we're much better than they are but I don't think it will be easy, they did beat the trees remember. That said, I felt the same about the Charlton match and it really was easy. Probably I'm too pesimistic based on past experience. Anyway - 1-1
