Benji Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 What, why? For stating my opinion? We've massively underestimated a side that's had similar form to us since Uwe Rosler came in. Thank **** though. I wouldn't say underestimate. I very much doubt Nigel thought "I'm going to make 6 changes because Wigan away will be a piece of piss". It's one of our hardest remaining fixtures - he's just made the call.
AKCJ Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 We've been shit tonight and could easily be down 2 or 3 goals, thankfully we're not. Making 6 changes just asked for problems and we've had them. We could have had a much more comfortable night (nothing is certain in Football of course) if we'd played the side that brushed aside the team second in the league. Apologies for being anxious, i've followed this club for long enough to know that we don't do it the easy way and tonight could we've made problems for ourselves. I just want us to hurry up and get promoted before we start playing players that have only played 5/10 minute cameos all season. Especially against the form sides in the league away from home. I'm not saying that the wheels are coming off or any of that crap apart from the fact that we've made things very hard for ourselves tonight because we've underestimated a side that is going to Wembley because they beat Man City at the Etihad. There was no reason to make changes tonight and if it was because of fatigue then why were those changes not made in what was deemed a more "comfortable" fixture last Tuesday versus Yeovil?
Ric Flair Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Didn't think we played that bad then! We'll win this, GTF, Phillips and Mahrez will come on with 30 mins to go and bull hammer 'em.
Happy Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Author Posted 1 April 2014 Midfield is getting overrun, Wigan are stroking the ball for fun, but we need to get Dyer more involves in the game.
I am Rod Hull Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 They call me the messiah. You`re not the Messiah, you`re a very naughty boy...
dmayne7 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Think Hammond has been alright its just that its a bit one dimensional with him and King because they both prefer to keep it simple.
One Legged Beaver Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Not the worst of first halves, both teams could have scored 2 or 3. Another assist for Nugent as well.
MC Prussian Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Midfield is getting overrun, Wigan are stroking the ball for fun, but we need to get Dyer more involves in the game. On the other hand, Wigan are terribly exposed at the back with only three proper defenders. It's been entertaining so far, could go either way. I think a draw would be the right outcome at the end.
AKCJ Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Hammond, King (I know he scored) and Knocky have been poor. Riyad, James and Drinky on please. Lets not throw away this record, it's also a good chance of making history and getting daylight between us and the chasing pack.
RowlattsFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Had to turn stream off in the end because the quality was annoying me, managed to miss both goals because it froze. From what I seen though Wigan were playing well and we defended well last ditch and the break was always on for us. Take more care in final third and there's goals for us tonight but they're dangerous.
isleofwightfox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Knocky has got used to being able to switch wings and be covered. Lloyd has the legs but I don't think he looks comfortable when he finds himself down the right. I would settle for a draw here but hope to see a drinky cameo late on. GTF will be on by the 60th I think.
Corky Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I highly doubt we underestimated them, we just had decisions to make on several players and Pearson took them all at once rather than three changes tonight, three on Friday. I do feel it's best if Drinkwater plays in the second half for Hammond, as Hammond appears to be struggling.
Horibbly Wrong Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 The defence is getting stretched at times and Wigan seem to have some powerful forwards, good practice for next year this
iamafox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 At least half time isn't as unbearable now as it was with Yeovil.

TJB-fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Leave off Hammond, changed the game at Blackburn when he came on. Prefer him coming on to calm games down and see them out but still support him cmon
CosbehFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Are people seriously advocating that we play the same players for 4 games in 11 days? It's like Christmas. The reason it's this game is the lack of recovery time between now and Friday.
lgfualol Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Not the worst of first halves, both teams could have scored 2 or 3. Another assist for Nugent as well. But it's not a goal is it???
AKCJ Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Been impressed with the atmosphere to be fair. Never been there but it's always seemed so sterile on television and what not.
masterg59 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 where is the game being played? Wigan Casino? ohh the memories, top top tune better than listening to stringers ramblings
Agent Fox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Splendid finish from King, so assured. We're playing well, Wigan are piling the pressure on but still in the game after absorbing their best. Wigan fans are dreadful 'booooooooooooo'.
