promised land Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Whats the point in putting a roof on wembley if you never close it when it rains?How many people ask this?The roof does not close over the pitch, the retractable parts are at either goal, they open them when no event is on to help the sun get to the pitch, then on match days they slide them shut. It does not and never has fully closed the stadium. Think of it as the kop and family stands, on non match days they open these parts up, then close them so the fans are under a roof.
