Dyer departs to Watford

Had he not been injured I think he'd have signed an extension but I think he knows that he's not the player he was at the beginning of the season.

Sad to see him go but wish him all the best  He's scored some crucial goals for us over the years, and gave me one of my best City memories ever when he scored that goal at Bolton to clinch the title - absolutely fantastic.

Like some others, I also applaud the fact he's gone for regular first team football over a couple of years, rather than being a bit-part player for one.

It's also a shame that he didn't go on to play for Leicester in all 3 divisions we've been in .... that would have been a great claim to fame!!!

Andy King will be the only player to achieve that now.

No, actually, Paul Dickov did it.

Paul Dickov is a great shout .... I was thinking it was just AK that could do it now!!

Dickov went the other way- Premier League first :D

To be fair to Lloyd his last season was probably his best - good time to move on the back of it.

Three or four years ago some of his performances wouldn't have got him a move to Watford.

Good luck LD.

Proper old school footballer. Got the job done, didn't moan, no ego, stayed away from the limelight, had moments of sheer brilliance. A testament to the game and being a Pro.

Good on you Lloyd and good luck at Watford, I'm sure you'll be a great addition the lucky feckers and I hope you have many years left in your career!

Top lad!

Not too bothered. Thanks for the years here but we have better players and can get better players. He isn't a club legend like some suggest.

I have to question why he would turn down a year in the PL for three years in the Championship. So what he was only offered a year, get your head down and maybe you'll get offered another year this time next year.

One of my favourite Leicester players ever. Gutted. Even through the O'Neill years we never had anyone with sheer pace who would take players on at any opportunity. Maybe Heskey in a way.

Can't believe how unappreciative some people are. Free transfer, has been fantastic for us and underrated by so many.

Lloyd on his day was fantastically exciting to watch. So many games where he just tore the right back a new arse. It's not very often a player comes along with such pace and directness on the wing.

Yes he had his flaws and inconsistent spells but there are very few wingers in the world who don't. I wouldn't be surprised if those who aren't sad to see him go are soon calling out for some pace on the wings next season (if we don't replace that in the meantime of course).

I much preferred watching Guppy to Dyer.

Great player and great service but football moves on and Thank You Lloyd for everything.

Not so sure why some are so sad he has 3 more years then hangs up his boots.

Most players have nothing at that point.

However Lloyd has another career lined up and will make a shite load and enjoy every day more so than football training.

A good professional.

I suspect the PL may be a step too far and Lloyd has made a sensible, pragmatic decision.

I wish him well.

Dyer for me should always be remembered fondly. Along with Andy King they represent the resurgence of a club that was dying on its arse 5-6 years ago. Those 2 were the only ones left of that div 3 team that brought some pride back to the club.

It is a shame that after battling through the Sven era when he refused to leave even though Sven wanted rid that he has gone now we have reached the prem. There have been games when he has looked absoloute dog shit but for everyone of them there is a direct opposite where he has been unplayable.

When on form he is the sort of player that gets you off your seat. Good luck Lloyd. You deserve nothing but praise and no one should belittle what you did for my club. A 3 year deal is the sensible option for you at your age.

Be sad to see him go. Not the world's most gifted, but he was a terrific impact player (particularly against poorer sides), and clearly loved playing his football here.

On a side note, I'd just like to say that I back the club 100% in its decision to only offer him a one-year contract. As we all know, his main asset is his pace, which is likely to drop off soon given that he's 31. Given that he struggled to keep a regular place in the first team last season, he would only be a fringe player for us next year anyway.

It would have been tempting for the management to offer him a longer deal for purely sentimental reasons, but I'm glad they have been a bit more circumspect and level-headed.

As the Kasper and Albrighton deals show, the club is prepared to offer 3/4 year contracts - but only to players at the right age and at the right stage of their careers. Previous regimes here have been caught out far too often in the past doling out long contracts to players coming towards the end of their careers. Maybe it's just the FFP regulations, but I'm glad the club finally seem to be getting a grip of things in that department.

:( I'll miss Lloyd, he scored some very important goals for us and worked hard. But, he could be inconsistent at times. I believe that Lloyd, could have had something to offer in the Premiership for a season or two. But, doubt the man will ever play in the top flight.

Best of luck Lloyd. May your future hold many a wonder goal to sink our rivals and at least one cup tie where we can say goodbye properly at the King Power, where you made so much happen for City.

Thought he would have been able to get himself into a club with serious promotion ambitions rather than the likes of Watford, but fair play he'd be mad to turn down a three year contract at this stage.

Sad to see him go. He was simply unplayable on numerous occasions last season. Easily among the best attacking players in the championship on his day.
