Manwell Pablo Posted 13 June 2014 Posted 13 June 2014 How? Costa clearly stood on the defender's foot. At no point did the defender make contact with Costa when he went for the challenge. He didn't stand on it though did he he moved his foot in the way of the tackle.

Holland surprisingly in my opinion, could actually and probably deserve to be in front at half time, Spain haven't done enough yet, Costa is taking needless time on the ball and has wasted 2-3 good opportunities; however Xabi Alonso & Iniesta are having decent games, that pass from Iniesta just before Holland equalised was class. Holland seem to be playing dirty though, want the game to flow a bit more, whistle is going too often.

If the defender slides in recklessly like that, doesn't win the ball and takes out costas standing foot (whether he stood on it or tripped is irrelevant, it's still a foul) then he's going to go down.
