MooseBreath Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 442 from now on for me. Proper wingers instead of relying on full backs. Gain two additional players to replace the pointless gerrard and wendyson
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Came away feeling okayish after the Italy game but I'm really fed up with this. They weren't better than us, we just threw it away by doing poorly in both boxes. Ref was awful as well of course, didn't like his decisions on fouls and Godin had to go too. Just as pissed off with us not taking chances though. Think people are exaggerating about how bad we were. It was mistakes at crucial times that lost us the match rather than an overall performance that deserved defeat. I can assure you there will be no-one saying that. Literally no-one. You can make literally NO assurances Harry. Give it time..
jetjock Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 If Italy don't surrender, Uruguay"s plane crashes in the Andes and they start eating each other and Costa Rica invade the USA- we're through
BoneDog Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 The FA made a mistake letting Leeds snap Hockaday up.
LCFC31 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Steve Gerrard always seems to get away with murder because he's 'popular'. I think he's been wank for the two games personally. Really poor. Spot on. Easily the worst player against Italy and Uruguay. Time for him to retire from international football.
Vacamion Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I don't think we're good - I think being competitive in this group is an achievement. I had few expectations of this team before the tournament and think we've done fine. I just think we've been unlucky. You make your own luck over a 38 game season or 72 holes of golf. You don't make it over 2 games at a World Cup; we've been spectacularly unlucky in several incidents over the last couple of games. Spot on.
Unabomber Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Get Ross and Adam in for Horrenderson and Steve, put Sterling Ox and Rooney behind Dan and see what happens I say.
Leicesterpool Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Is anyone actually going to watch the England V Costa Rica?

You don't make it over 2 games at a World Cup; we've been spectacularly unlucky in several incidents over the last couple of games. Of course you do. It's not like all the teams don't know it's a tournament!! Go in, give it everything and you'll do well. Go in and not give a f*** then other teams will run all over you.
BoneDog Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 In all seriousness, I let out a might deep sigh at full time. I thought I could smell gas.

Guest ttfn Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 No, we've not been unlucky, we've been shite. Play teams at their own games. Give as good as you get. We are pussies. I'd find plenty of people who'd think a body check isn't a yellow card. Have a bit of heart and be a man. at that last bit! Condescending hyperbole.

Merging Cultures Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 at that last bit! Condescending hyperbole. Not too dissimilar to yours then!!!
Harry - LCFC Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 You can make literally NO assurances Harry. Give it time.. Some minuscule minority might meekly put the idea forward but it's hardly going to be widespread.
Unabomber Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I thought I could smell gas. That's offensive mate, no need for that.
StanSP Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Ric, if you're reading this - why did no-one target Suarez?! I don't think one forceful challenge was put on him .
RowlattsFox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I don't think any other player in the world other than Suarez would anticipate a chance coming for that second. Always on the last line waiting. Whereas Sturridge is barely in the penalty area
The Guvnor Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 We were poor tonight, lack of pace, too slow on the ball , tactically inept and schoolboy error to concede the second.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Though it may not be popular, for me the reality is we somehow needed to rectify the issue with John Terry. As far as I can see, defensively we've been really poor at this tournament. We needed a leader at the back and a player who naturally knew Cahill's game. This should have been sorted. And before any smart-ass shouts 'with the benefit of hindsight', I've thought this for a long time. I don't think we'd have conceded that last goal tonight with a more sorted and organised back four.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 We just aren't very ****ing good are we?

Terry racially abused folk though.
Parafox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Where was the pace? Where was the attack from midfield? Passing it around at the back before a hopeful pass forward which on occasion did come off but then, until Barkley came on there was little running into the box and hardly any runs at the defence. Johnson had a good start but then faded badly again. Jagielks went missing at crucial moments. Henderson... who the fook is he? Cahill possibly the best England player tonight. At least he seeemed committed Hart. Not exactly useless but I have no faith in him. Poor positioning for bot the corners Suarez nearly scored from. Rooney... "Englands best player"? Really? If that's the case then it just shows how bad the rest of them are. Gerrard "captain fantastic"? You're having a laugh.
