The Horse's Mouth Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Get rid of Woy and stop this racist propaganda of the English manager having to be English and get a proper coach in.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Gerrard probably won't play for England again and rightly so, just go with new blood from now, we will go out, can't see this massive help needed to go through happening
The Doctor Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 You've not been that bad this tournament, just unlucky in that you ended up in a group much stronger than in 2010. If you played like you have thus far in that group, you'd have waltzed it, play like you did in 2010 this time round and you'd be worse off than you are now - at least now you still have a slight hope due to goal difference. I don't get the lambasting of Hodgson - he had a rebuild job on after the demise of the golden generation, and he's making great strides - you've got a good core of young players who, come Euro 2016, should be terrorising the international stage. Besides, who else would you have? Don't forget the other candidate last time was Bagpuss, who covers up his complete lack of managerial ability by spending like a teenage girl with an unlimited credit card.
Jon the Hat Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Anyone who says we had a go can't be serious. We played poorly, we played exactly into their hands. We didn't play with pace, we didn't stretch the field, at times we made 2-3 passes when 1 would have been enough, we had **** all movement into space and overall the midfield was absolutely terrible. Agree. We were nowhere near our performance on Saturday.
purpleronnie Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Get rid of Woy and stop this racist propaganda of the English manager having to be English and get a proper coach in. we tried that it didn't work.
cambridgefox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Forgot what it was like to have over reactions after last season. Suarez is class and we aren't that good.
sylofox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 And yet we comfortably matched Uruguay throughout. The fact is that we don't get the rub of the green in these games. We lost very, very narrowly today and equally today, in a game where their centre back and captain pretty obviously should have been sent off after 25 minutes, It's not an excuse to say we were unlucky - we were. That's pretty obvious to anybody who's tried to watch the games without preconceptions. You make your own luck. We looked clueless most of the game and can't stop a player everyone of our players know. He is also not fully fit praps had he been it would have been six. Unlucky we have played 2 lost 2 and been undone by one man in each game. And as good as we think we are our forwards are not good enough our back four is not good enough.# And our midfield have not got hold of a game yet. Poor poor side don't make excuses for them they don't deserve it.
Carl the Llama Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Ha. Hahahaha. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahababahahahahahahahahaha. We are so shit.
Vacamion Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Seeing Joe Hart in every other fvcking advert is so much more galling after our inevitable demise than it was 6 days ago when the World Cup was so full of promise. As if picking the ball out the net 4 times is going to make me buy the sponsored product. Never buying Doritos or Head n Shoulders again...
Harry - LCFC Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Came away feeling okayish after the Italy game but I'm really fed up with this. They weren't better than us, we just threw it away by doing poorly in both boxes. Ref was awful as well of course, didn't like his decisions on fouls and Godin had to go too. Just as pissed off with us not taking chances though. Think people are exaggerating about how bad we were. It was mistakes at crucial times that lost us the match rather than an overall performance that deserved defeat. Cue the excuses'We were never gonna beat Uruguay' etc etc etc..Disappointed woy.... I can assure you there will be no-one saying that. Literally no-one.
theessexfox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Costa Rica: Hart Johnson Cahill Jagielka Shaw Milner Lallana Sterling Barkley Ox (if fit) Sturridge No idea if that team is any good but playing as many of the young, promising players as possible.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Steve Gerrard always seems to get away with murder because he's 'popular'. I think he's been wank for the two games personally. Really poor.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Gabriel Clarke is a right miserable bastard. I'd have butted him in I were Jagielka. If I was Gabriel Clarke, I'd have butted Jagielka for being shite!!
Stuliasz Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 As a nation, the world's richest league, and the country that invented the game we underperformed against a much smaller nation. They were better teams, but they wouldn't be. We've been underperforming for too long. Agree with everything you say, except for the relevance of England inventing the game. As a nation we have underperformed, but it's hard to blame the current crop of players and management for that. Really think it's time to question the structure of the FA from grassroots upwards and look at a complete overhaul.
Merging Cultures Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Before I knew who the foul was committed by it was clear it was a yellow card. Even if the ref didn't see a foul he did see a clear body check as Sturridge raced onto the ball on the edge of the box. I would be surprised if you could find 5 people who thought that wasn't a yellow card every day of the week. I don't want to focus on the referee - I think we've generally been very unlucky, but that was a terrible call. No, we've not been unlucky, we've been shite. Play teams at their own games. Give as good as you get. We are pussies. I'd find plenty of people who'd think a body check isn't a yellow card. Have a bit of heart and be a man.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 we tried that it didn't work. With Sven and Capello we reached a later stage that we have under Woy.
Leicesterpool Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 we tried that it didn't work. Capello was a cracking coach with an excellent CV but the language barrier was a major problem, Sven didn't do too bad at least he got us out of the group stages in all three of his tournaments, but notice two of them were getting on a bit. Maybe this job is calling out for a young up coming foreign manager.
steveherbe Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Now the pundits will try and tell us we can get through still. FFS wake up we don't deserve to go through. Roy and the boys should get on the plain in the morning and spare us 3 defeats. Woy and the 'boys' should get on a china airline plane and fly directly into the sea. Make the fekkers walk back, hopefully they wont get back before euro 2016.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I'm actually quite angry about how poor our national side is.
martyn Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Steve Gerrard always seems to get away with murder because he's 'popular'. I think he's been wank for the two games personally. Really poor. Agree, he gets a free pass. Appalling in both games. Time to go.
Steven Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Steve Gerrard always seems to get away with murder because he's 'popular'. I think he's been wank for the two games personally. Really poor. With whom?

As a nation we have underperformed, but it's hard to blame the current crop of players and management for that. Really think it's time to question the structure of the FA from grassroots upwards and look at a complete overhaul. To be fair we have done that and have won two European U-17 championships in recent years so perhaps the future is brighter. But we won't be seeing the fruits of these changes for at least 5-10 years.

Poor poor side don't make excuses for them they don't deserve it. I don't think we're good - I think being competitive in this group is an achievement. I had few expectations of this team before the tournament and think we've done fine. I just think we've been unlucky. You make your own luck over a 38 game season or 72 holes of golf. You don't make it over 2 games at a World Cup; we've been spectacularly unlucky in several incidents over the last couple of games.
Corky Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Steve Gerrard always seems to get away with murder because he's 'popular'. I think he's been wank for the two games personally. Really poor. You'll change your mind in a year, Col
